I favour DOW at 12500 - 12750 to go short.  Tomorrow is a good time to take profits on some Long positions and see what the big institutions are up to over the weekends. While the ECB is buying bonds to improve the “transmission mechanism” in bond markets, “such interventions can only be limited,” Draghi said in an address to the European Parliament in Brussels today. “A new fiscal compact would be the most important signal from euro-area governments. It would also present a clear trajectory for the future evolution of the euro area, thus framing expectations.” The euro dropped after Draghi’s comments, which came one day after the ECB joined forces with the Federal Reserve to cut the cost of emergency dollar loans to banks outside the U.S. While yesterday’s action fuelled a global stock market rally, the yield on Italy’s 10-year bond is still close to 7 percent as contagion spreads to the euro region’s core. The single currency fell as much as 0.3 percent to $1.3417 and traded at $1.3433 at 9:50 a.m. in Brussels. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index lost 0.8 percent as of 8:34 a.m.in London, halting a four-day, 9.1 percent jump. European leaders will meet next week to discuss the next steps in stopping a crisis that will soon enter a third year. Draghi’s approach is backed by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who says politicians must drive the euro region towards a fiscal union rather than rely on the ECB’s bond purchases. “Governments must restore their credibility vis-a-vis financial markets,” Draghi said.
