Buy in one or two weeks before XD 25 APR 08. See the market move. Don't do anything now. I made 80K last Oct on this counter and made 19K last mth on the same counter. Could hv made more if I hold them as previously did. Hence, watch out. |

Oil price is never going to come down to the low levels. Many things such as plastics are made from oil. How many things can you think that are made of plastics? The truth about oil is it is never going to be enough supply to meet increasing demand. So when oil price goes up, everything that is made that comes from oil is going to go up. |

Everything is about demand & supply. What we can do is cut down the demand. Stop driving a car or drive a car with small capacity or one using natural gas. Cut the distance traveled to work by buying a home near your office or be employed by a company near home. Whenever possible, walk or else take MRT. Cut down the electricity consumption, no warm water for showering, no aircon or fans, light off if not needed, etc. Then the price may come down if everyone does his duty. |

When I first read about the peak oil theory, I wasn't sure if it was right. Some big oil companies and prominant oil producing countries kept saying the world has more than enough oil to last many years. After reading a report on "The Truth About Oil", I think some people are not telling the truth. After reading a comment from a oil giant in the Straitis Times last Friday, I think effectively the truth has been exposed. By 2025, the world's demand for oil is going to be 60% greater than it is today, while producion capacity is thrown back to 1985 levels The world could face "peak oil" by 2015 according to the US Department of Energy special report. It is no secret anymore that for every 9 barrels of oil we consume, we are only discovering one - The BP Statistical Review of World Energy. Many things we have come from oil. Your shoes, your Starbucks coffee cup, plastics, computers, silicon, wire coverings, electron microscopes etc. We are likely to be headed for a oil crisis. When oil price shoots up, prices of many things are going to go up. |

Today's newpaper reported a comment by Shell. It is quite a disturbing one. It convinced me what I have been thinking of. We are headed for a major oil crisis in the future as oil is drying up. Don't be surprised oil price shoots up real high in the future |

Mani, the weighted amount of div declared will be deducted from ur P/L (margin balance). Advice to not hold short overnight positions for XD for simplicity. SPC may fail to close above 200SMA resistance in the next couple of days at $6.52, Nymex crude falls 5% overnight. Inclined for a short position. |

Limhpp said correct. However, you must consider whether you buy in now, say 6.34 per lot, and with the analyst predicted that the target price for SPC is 7.27 this yr, with such valatile market, can you hold the stock till 25 Apr 08, without any depriciation. Moreover, the SPC gain since last Fri till this morning already factored in the gain. Pse note the US and Euro spring season is coming, the demand for oil in not that great already. Oil price will dip when demand is low. The stock is not cheap now. However, again if SPC price drops below 5.80 before Ex date, including the market trend is stable, then you may consider to buy in few lots for mid yr celebration. AK view, anyway. |

As long as you buy before X date and sell on X date you will still be entitled to the dividends. That apply to all counters. |
