On Ex date, it will dip accordly, depending the market strength. Ie is if market is very bad it will dip substantially as compared to price before Ex date. If market is generally fince, then it will not break very badly, as the stock has good potential. FY announcement you may get surprise of Special Div on top of the 40cents div declared. The catch is last yr when SPC announced both crude oil plants in Indon and China profit yield will not lump into 07 last Qtr, thus you only see 20 cents interim div in last Qtr. Now, situation is much different already, the high oil prices will definitely add into the overal 1Qtr leow, my view. Though, in today SPC notice of AGM published in BT, none of the 11 resolations mentioned about the special div except to declare the final tax exempt one-tier div of 40 cents per share for the final yr ended 31 Dec 07. Ha, the AGM is on 23 Apr 07 at Raffles City Convention Centre. Share hold should be receiving the SPC Annual Journal this few days. If market is dull, may drop by for the meeting to hv a cup of coffee or a gallon of petrol, he he. Cheers. |

if use 5% yield as benchmark, target price = $8 before xd. that's excluding any interim dividends.

Agree, $6.5 is already in profit. If there is any consolation, I bought 1 lot at $7 day before and yesterday another lot at $7.04. | ||||

Heng, I didn't follow my former strategy applied in last 3 yrs where once the div was announced, I would buy in the stocks in stages before Ex date. Due to the poor market atmosphere, I reduced its investment size. Goon, you smarter than me, I got an avg of 6.875 per lot. Due to the volatile market nowadays, AK may sw plan in times go by. Just heard news on U chennel, US brought out further bad news on sub-prime related issues, god bless leow. |

SPC is unlikely to go below $6.5 before xd. After xd maybe u can get at $6.3 or if mkt crash, as low as $5.5. Me still stuck with SPC at $6.5 |

hahaha...i not greedy,ig got 5 lot SPC,5 lot dbs,5 lot uob and the list goes on,i also can retire. I oni need S$2500 a month from dividends and afterall i am stupidfool so sure can retire one.
