Even the best research in the whole wide world will not be able to see or predict the way of the stock market beast...

In the recent meltdown, the best of analyst would have gone "pok!" just like that... hehehe...

Disneyland was once on our Government's card.  The project did not take off because the Government refused to put in the money or sell its land for cheap.

The current IR projects are different of course.  Not only the Government need not put in money or give away land cheaply, it stands to gain the most in both projects.  The only indirect cost to the Government is exposing the citizens to the social-ills of legalised gambling - which in a way is not a big issue to the government; the propaganda machine and the dogs can handle any criticisms from the public.

 I doubt anywhere in the world could manage Disneyland like LA.   Singapore government knows its own strength and weaknesses and operating Disneyland in singapore will never be in their card.  Lets see how Malaysia will run the Disneyland.....

Of all the Disneyland that I have visited in the world, HK DW is certainly the smallest. Not enough choices compare to those in the States where people go multiple times and still find it fun. Little wonder that it doesn't do well becos as a tourist, I would think twice to pay another visit any time soon.

I hope USS in RWS will not be an anti-climax ... high expectations, little to offer.

I agreed.  Further, the figure of 30,000 per day sounds too optimistic.

Without "profit subsidies" from the casino, it is unlikely that the park could survive on its own. 

Hong Kong Disney World, which is at the door entrance of China, could not make profit.  In fact, it would not have been built if the Hong Kong Government did not inject 82% of the capital required.
