Brace ourselves for HSI above 22,0000 and STI 3100 on Monday or Tuesday. DOW will move over 13,000 at ease on Tuesday.

Greece Identifies 325 Million Euros in Cuts Needed for Bailout Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Lucas Papademos said Greece found all the extra cuts needed to lower spending by 325 million euros ($427 million) to secure a bailout aimed at averting the region’s first sovereign default. The government identified “a series of additional measures amounting to 125 million euros in order to complete the package of budget cuts worth 325 million euros,” Papademos told ministers at a meeting of the Cabinet in Athens yesterday, according to an e-mailed transcript.

Japan, China to Help Solve Europe Crisis Through IMF, Azumi Says Feb. 19 (Bloomberg) -- Japanese Finance Minister Jun Azumi said his nation and China agree they will cooperate to assist Europe to solve its debt crisis through the International Monetary Fund. Europe needs a bigger so-called firewall of additional funding to contain the crisis, even as Greece is showing some improvement in solving its financial woes, Azumi told reporters in Beijing today after meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan. Azumi, who met with Chinese Finance Minister Xiu Xuren during his visit, also said he asked China to make its currency more flexible. “Showing China and Japan are united to support the debt crisis is good news for European markets,” Hiroshi Miyazaki, chief economist at Shinkin Asset Management Co. in Tokyo, said before today’s meeting. “It may still take some time for the two to decide specifics as Europe hasn’t reached agreement on a solution within the region.” The IMF proposed last month to boost its lending funds by as much as $500 billion to insulate the global economy against any deterioration of Europe’s sovereign crisis. The U.S. has said it won’t increase its IMF contribution to help the EU. Such support would be similar to a G-20 decision in April 2009 to triple the fund’s resources as part of plan to pull the world out of recession. At the time, the U.S. and Japan each contributed $100 billion, the EU $178 billion and China $50 billion.

http://money.cnn.com/2012/02/17/news/economy/obama_job_creation/index.htm (CNNMoney) -- The United States economy is on the road to recovery, the White House said Friday, with stronger job growth expected this year. But income inequality and Europe's debt crisis could still pose challenges, according to a report released by President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers. Obama's recent State of the Union address, it focuses heavily on income inequality, and building an America where " everyone gets a fair shot." While 1.8 million jobs were created last year, the economy still needs to add about 5.6 million jobs to get back to 2008 employment levels -- and that's without accounting for population growth. New forecasts from the Council of Economic Advisers estimate 2 million jobs will be added in 2012. teeth53 thot: DOW will do a catch up on Tuesday as Monday is a Presidential Day. |

http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/china-cuts-banks-requirement-ratios-123833295.html China's central bank cut the amount of cash banks must hold in reserves on Saturday, boosting lending capacity by an estimated 350-400 billion yuan (£35.1-£40.1 billion). People's Bank of China (PBOC) is on the course of gentle policy easing to cushion the world's fastest-growing major economy against stiff global headwinds as Euro debt crisis grinds on, although it has been treading warily. PBOC cut big banks' reserve requirement ratio (RRR) by 50 basis pts to 20.5%, effective from next Friday. Siow liao. STI Penny chiong lohh,  S-chips in play, so is  my Artivision...arhh as China does a QE... Happi trading coming Monday morning...:) ![]() ![]() ![]() |
