Technical - If STI will cross the resistance level of 2996 then it will go for more upside, else from the support level of 2958 it may be more on down trend. Go to any stock and look for the " Interactive Chart" link. Personally, Saxo is my all-in-one analysis tool. I use it  to draw charts and execute through another broker. You can consider if you have a Saxo acct. Ultimate Jiuyang Shengong skill level 999  is still when you use Excel/paper to draw the charts yourself based on raw data. Regional markets already trading are offering mildly negative cues. Additionally, " the omens don't look good for a number of reasons," says Justin Harper, head of research at IG Markets Singapore, in a note. He cites concerns Singapore's industrial production data, due around midday, will show a contraction for January as well as rising oil prices and key regional economic driver China's downgrade of its economic expansion expectations. The STI closed 0.9% lower at 2968.34 Thursday after falling 1.0% Wednesday it remains up 12.2% year-to-date. CIMB recently tipped the STI to test the 2950 support near term. 3000 is likely to remain a bright-line resistance. Among stocks set to be in focus after earnings results, UOB (U11.SG) reported 4Q11 net profit below expectations, while SembMarine's (S51.SG) 4Q11 results came in above expectations. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	As a newbie hor I was introduced to a stock service for global stocks, nearly realtime, and learned that you could actually use the default program to monitor the point you want to buy and sell.  Scan the MACD, RSI etc, or you could devise your own functions, initially a little complicated but later you  thro some trial and error, you will understand the function, This is a free program and you don't have to subscribe.  Just go to jstock.com, if you can't get there just let me know. Newbies will find it useful.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	The reporting season is coming to an end soon, by next wk only a few more  big caps CDL, Noble, YZJ will  announce, the small ones  hardly hv any effect..  after the reporting season is over, no more catalysts, and the background noise of  downgrading, debt, iran/middle east tensions, high oil price,  inflation etc will become louder. Btw, last nite Dow & S& P were pulled up by IBM and a few  heavy weights.
