From what i see, only the BBs benefit. They buy cheap here and migrate to Korea where they can sell higher. Not an expert on this .. just my thoughts... small retailers - how to do migration of shares? only the institution and big players - right? hence the price surpressed here. . |

If a decision regarding dividend has been made:- (a) Current Financial Period Reported On Year ended 31 Dec 2007 Name of dividend Final Dividend type Cash Dividend rate US cent 4.9 per ordinary share before tax Payout ratio 20.29% Par value of shares Korean won 100 Tax rate* * We will deduct Korean withholding tax from dividends paid to you at a rate of 27.5% (including resident surtax). If you are a qualified resident in a country that has entered into a tax treaty with Korea, you may qualify for a reduced rate of Korean withholding tax. Korea has entered into a number of income tax treaties with other countries, including Singapore, which reduce or exempt Korean withholding tax on dividend income. For example, under the Korea- Singapore income tax treaty, reduced rates of Korean withholding tax rate on dividends of 15% or 10%, respectively (including resident surtax), depending on your shareholding ratio, is available to residents of Singapore that are beneficial owners of the relevant dividend income. Also, under the Korea-U.S income tax treaty, reduced rates of Korean withholding tax on dividends of 16.5% or 11.0%, respectively (including resident surtax), depending on your shareholding ratio. Please note that all shareholders are required to submit the evidence of their tax residence in order to obtain a reduced rate of Korean withholding tax.
