I read a book recently by a market "guru" who mentioned that there is likely to be a market low this or next (ie 2006..... 2007) If I'm not mistaken George Soros also mentioned @ 2007.... (I may be wrong on this....) This guy (who wrote the book) is the "unsurpassed winner of the Robbins World Cup Championship of Futures Trading..... taking $10,000 to $1,100,000 in less than 12 mths......" I know.... we're talking @ stocks & shares (not @ futures)..... however, in my humble opinion there are some similarities in these financial instruments..... So is this guy RIGHT or is he dead WRONG.....?? So far he's predicted correctly in 2001 that ....."I would expect a market low to occur about the same time of the year - the fall of 2002." Nobody knew then.... he also didn't know @ it...... We all know by now what happened next..... So if this guy is correct.... there is still some way to go B4 or 2007..... who knows he may be right....? For me..... I'll keep an open mind.... and wait & see..... only time will tell...... |

Hi Newmoon. I am not a psychic. It was just a date error. The front page report appeared in Straits Times of 17 June 2006. We should be able to know after the World Cup final on 9 July whether the report is accurate. |

btw curious..if u really believe what Faber says u shld be on holiday now! not bothering what ppl say bout the market..coz u r on holiday too ryte?as far as i can calculate correctly october is 4mths away!! unless u r still active in the market..which doesnt substantiate your claims and beliefs..or mebe ur not telling us something? u cant be so kind as to offer us "free advice"? coz ur stand seems very persuasive..as if ur trying to convince us..u cant convince ppl pink is blue u noe unless they dont know in the first place..:) |

newmoon reminds me of some of my profs..all talk and full of theories but still not rich...if making money is as simple as formulas and theories most of us here will be millionaires by now..stocks and shares and economy for that sense is not as easy as formulaes and theories or sayings from famous people..each person has their own style or beliefs but dat doesnt mean hes right..no one is a soothsayer or can prove dat his way is right..theres no predictions..they r all based on assumptions and history..no one expected tsunami to happen..i am sure there are formulas for dat too..wat i am trying to say is the future is not for us to decide or predict..we can onli try but theres no sure foolproof way..as things stands of now wat we r saying is things doesnt look dat bad..economy is fine and things are bright..so just dun create panic and shout fire wen u juz see some sparks..in fact no sparks seen also in this case! N u shouldnt take tings for wat it looks physically friend..kitty obviously had a typo error..it doesnt take a genius to see dat..she meant 17 june..which proves my point..open up ur mind k..n u will see a brighter sky..just offering sm advice..we r all here to learn anyway..so peace.. |

How did kitty member read the strats times dated 17- july which is one month in the future-he must be psychic. By the way the famous Dr. Marc Faber uses the bradley siderograph which uses astrological calculations to sell his funds-the significant downturn is dated 20-5-06-he advises that one should go on holiday and maybe come backat end october.He certainly did not use the front page of the staits timea. The well known square of nine principle of charting by Gann is based on esoteric principles that only Gann undfrstands. |

newmoon - stock market movements are all based on sentiment and investor psychology. all the economic theories do not really address this fact at all. economics is just a basic foundation to make sense of chaos. |

wat u mean newmoon? substantiate ur claims to be fair to everyone. World cup season is historically known to be down periods for stocks worldwide and together with the recent rallies it happens to be perfect timing for a correction. Economy is doing pretty well. So unless you have a reason y it should not be a correction then pls state your reasons. If not dun make unsubstantiated claims like so forth. Its not very healthy. But then again alot of shortists makes comments coz they are scared when they think the market might not work in their favour. |

Some participants think that this is just a prolonged market correction. If this correction continues for much longer the market will go dead and a lot of investors will lose their pants and have no money to bet on the world cup. The c wave of the correction has not even started. Do not listen to institutional dealers- their loyalty lies wth the institutions who butter their bread and so their loyalty does not lie with the man in the street.
