OK, in that case, Vista is a newer version on displaying Java script version. That is once, u select auto update on Java, d latest version will be indicated at the side of the Java ballon, in Control panel, but not creating another check box in Advance setting. Whereas for Xp user, no direct update of d latest Java version at the Java ballon but instead created a check box at d Advance Setting. Ha ha , other forumers can try on their Vista, and get us posted if they find something new on d abovementioned. For info: Setting your Java. Activate Java ballon in d Control panel. Clk pull down menu, Update, mark d check box "Check for update automatically". If u dun wish it in auto, then once there is any new update, u will be prompted with a word box at d lower right hand corner tool bar, once u launch IE, it stated " Java is ready for update", u follow d instruction, thing will be completed easily. 3qtr down d page, clk d Advance to choose your update either daily, weekly or mthly. Under same Java ballon, in d Advance menu, there are many check boxes for u to mark, depending your choices. Pse note that, if system prompted u to restart computer to activate d changes, pse do it.

The Notebook which is operating on Windows Vista is also running smoothly but only concern is the Internet Option > Program which don't have the checkbox for JRE. Anyway thanks for your prompt reply. Ken, sorry, had tried to figure out why no JRE check box in d Advance Setting menu in d Internet Option configuration. Mine is Xp, no indication of JRE version on my Java ballon in d control panel, but got details at d Java Check box in d advance setting. Yours got indication of JRE version on your Java ballon in d control panel, but no Java check box in d advance setting. I had done many setting option in d Java ballon but nothing happen on d my JRE check box and Java ballon in d control panel. Now, how about u launch d Java ballon in d control panel, and try to check some of d blank check box in d various menu? But remember to set back d original option once u didn't get any results. Pse take note, u need to restart d computer, at certain instant, to activate d new setting. If really u can't make d diff, then no issue loh, as yours already on auto start, and can verify the version in control panel instead of d Jre Check box. Hello, other sifu can help, so that Ken no need to stress himself to try out all d option. He he. Cheers.

Hi AK_Francis, Just checked my notebook > Internet Option > Advance Setting but can't find any JRE listed. I checked the Control Panel > Program and it shows that Java latest version is already installed (screen-shot as shown below). Is there anything I should do to correct my computer setting? Thanks in advance.

Java latest version is JRE 1.6.0_14. Usually, these updates are automatic. Unless u turn it off. |
