thanks for the advice. Right now, most of my money is in FD and Bonds. I think I should just stay that way. |

I kind of agree with buffet. And if he has cash to spare which he doesnt need he can invest into fixed deposits and bonds. If he doesnt mind taking a bit of risk then low risk unit trusts shold be fine. Stocks are an iffy depending on what is his appetite and his needs.. juz my two pence..") |

personally, i think retirees shld not buy any shares. they shld just put their money in fixed deposit or govt bonds. hard earned money for retirement ... better safe than sorry. also, after retirement, no point taking risk. |

I've recently retired. I find it safest (after watching the price and Research remarks) a) Banks - DBS, UOB, OCBC, HLF,.. SingPost are the safest bet with good and regular dividends; b) Property counters (watch the price first). c) Good REITS. For Singapore Finance and Land moves well with the economy. (Study also Temasek link cos; but be aware of the price they bought) - don't just rush in. |

Safe and sound . Local blue chip stocks like Singtel and comfortDelgro, they give good yearly dividend as well upto 6.5% and some times with special bonuses. Your principal amount invest is as good as u can get. |

Hi, I am a teacher who is about to retire. Just like to share some experience about a friend of mine who withdrew his pension and invested 90% of it into stocks. He lost most of it and now has to come out of retirement to look for a second career. I think for retired people, the safer investments like bonds or funds would be better and safer. |
