the selldown is overdone. BB usually takes advantage of such event and selldown the stock even if it's good. They can accumulate at the lower price. The weak legs one will release...not vested. | ||||||

Keppel Corp, the world's top offshore oil rig-maker, posted a smaller-than-expected 4% rise in first quarter profit and said 2008 would be a challenging year. Revenue from its offshore and marine business this year will be similar to last year's, partly due to capacity constraints at its yards, Keppel said during a Web cast for analysts and reporters. "2008 looks to be a tough year," Keppel's executive chairman Lim Chee Onn said. "Against this backdrop, our group's growth moderated sharply compared to the previous 6 years of record growth." Lim said, however, that he was bullish about the offshore and marine sector, which includes rig-building, as oil companies are continuing to spend heavily on exploration and production. "Global demand for petroleum products remains strong, and our search for worthwhile upstream investments continues," he added. The firm said its foreign currency exposure was fully hedged so it was not exposed to the falling U.S. dollar. Keppel earned $261.7 million in the 3 months to end-Mar compared with $251.6 million a year ago, below the $303 million average estimate of three analysts polled by Reuters. The key offshore and marine business, which includes oil rigs, saw its orderbook shrink to $11.8 billion from $12.2 billion at the end of Dec. According to Keppel, net profit contribution from offshore and marine fell 13% to $131 million in the first 3 months of '08. Keppel's investment income, which includes contributions from 45% associate SpC, rose 26% to $68 million. Net profit from its property businesses rose 34% to $51 million, while earnings from its infrastructure arm increased 33% to $12 million. Lim said, however, that property sales had slowed in S'pore and in some regional markets, although 53%-held Keppel Land intends to grow its footprint across Asia, where demand for quality homes is underpinned by the emergence of a larger middle class. |

Viruz, you always come with the right time for stimulant, ths millions. As I said earlier, players are playing this counter, inclusive others I mentioned, someone asking AK, Idesa n Nick. As AK posted earlier also, 15 mins before lunch, heavy selling causing panic dumping by some. I grabbed one at 11.64, a drop of 36cts. Quite close to 55cts div declared and proposed. As usual for the players, on the last hr of the trading, they stir shit again. Waited for them, when they pushed the price as low as 11.42(thats surplus the 55cts div variant as ref to yest price of 12.00, hard to believe) and heavy blocking at 11.44. No thinking is required, direct done one at 11.44 loh. Play with them loh. Together with AK existing lots, will wait for div on 29 Apr 08. |

Hallo, relax lah jangan tension. People, people hold loh. His sub, like Kepland dropped and up leh. SPC followed suit, didn't hurt much sian. Venture so so, best let people long and short to earn cofe or beer money. The moral of the storry is, if you hv faith on the stock you procure, hold it for 30 yrs also nevermind one, Warren Buffett said few mths ago, in BT. BTW, didn't see any update on its latest corporate news neither in BT online or Bizspore in Teletext. Latest update on business on BT online was at 11.35hrs just now.
