Don't be frightened now, since your fear is taken care by SGX approval of the right issue. It was certainly tense, till they got the approval. Cheers. |

Hi guys be weary of this counter. Few years ago Miyoshi had come out with the right issue, and SGX had declined their request. May be the old boys will remember this and shed some light for our fellow SI members. |

hmm..... looks very attractive if it turns out to be true. But as quoted: "speaking on condition of anonymity" is a little scary, but worth a second look indeed. |

Singapore's Miyoshi plans bonus div, rights ?source
SINGAPORE, Feb 26 (Reuters) - Hard-disk drive parts maker Miyoshi Precision Ltd. is planning a one-off bonus dividend and a renounceable rights issue, a source familiar with the deal told Reuters on Monday.
Miyoshi will issue a bonus cash dividend this year of 5-6 Singapore cents a share, to pass on its unutilised tax credits to shareholders, said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity.
The company, which listed its shares on the Singapore Exchange in 2000 and has a market value of nearly US$50 million, is also planning a 1-for-2 rights issue, the source said.
Miyoshi is expected to make an official announcement of its capital management plans later this week.
The firm makes top covers for hard disk drives from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies and Fujitsu Ltd. , as well as printer parts for Hewlett-Packard Co. Ltd. .
It also makes precision metal-stamped parts for Japanese car makers like Honda Motor Co. .
Miyoshi reported a 28 percent jump in revenues to S$133.3 million ($87 million) for the year ended August 2006, while its net profit surged nearly five-fold to S$7.94 million.

Be careful because someone in this forum once mentioned that being a Japanese company, they may refrain from giving out their tax credit, aka ISETAN. I concur with this. |

Extract From Today's Business Times: Miyoshi Precision Feb 21 close: S$0.265 CIMB-GK RESEARCH, Feb 21 TO RIDE the healthy HDD industry: Miyoshi, which is the main hard disk drive (HDD) top-cover supplier to HGST (about 70 per cent of its 3.5 inch and server drives requirements) and Fujitsu (50 per cent of requirements), looks set to benefit from the healthy 12-15 per cent per annum growth projected for the HDD industry for the next three years. Added growth may come from the penetration of new HDD customers or market share gains. Likely to shift more production to low-cost regions to remain cost-competitive: We see the possibility of Miyoshi relocating more production to lower-cost sites as 60-70 per cent of its top covers are still manufactured out of Singapore. Relocation will help to reduce its costs and place the company close to its existing and potential HDD customers. Expanding low-volume, high-mix businesses to sustain margins: We view its expansion into low-volume, high-mix businesses (laser machines and automotive components) positively as this will help Miyoshi sustain its margins. Also, business in this segment is generally less volatile, providing more visibility. Unused Section 44 tax credit suggests possible bonus dividend: Miyoshi has S$3.8 million of tax credits. These could be used to frank S$19 million of bonus cash dividends, or 6.8 cents per share. Initiate coverage with 'outperform' rating and target price of S$0.35: This is based on 8 times CY08 PE, on a par with the industry average, in view of its healthy earnings outlook and comparable returns on equity. We see potential catalysts from a strong set of half-year results (announcement due in April 2007), the possible announcement of special dividends, and strong newsflow from the HDD industry. OUTPERFORM |
