I think the $100 levy imposed by GOS is really stupid. I won't want to pay $100 and being treated like a criminal in the casino to be subjected to constant checks!!! It will spoils all my moods. I would rather go to Genting highlands and be treated with respect.

Went to RWS Monday evening, it was packed undoubtedly due to the festive mood. Unfortunately, only half of the joint was in operation (the other tables etc were not open for reasons only known to RWS) which aggravated the crowding. I wasn't too impressed with the decor etc compared to the likes of both Wynn or MGM in Macau. The range of games were also too Asia-centric and many did not cater to the more sophisticated gamblers in terms of the house odds e.g blackjack. At the end of the day, one still cannot shake off the Genting-ish feeling be it here or in KL, hence I will wait to see what LVS has to offer in terms of the gaming experience. RWS still has very much to learn from their Western gaming counter parts in terms of enhancing the patron's gaming experience.

Ho... Ho... Ho... Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! Wish All Investors Huat AR~ Everytime a stock comes down, people start saying no good, negative remarks, sell...sell...sell... Then when it climb up, people will say very potential, positive remarks, buy...buy...buy... Make investors' confidence level very unstable~ hee hee Invested on Genting SP for long term will most likely be gaining, hardly see any casino lose money (except crisis period) in long term. For short term, very hard to predict. You expect it to fall down, it climb up. You expect it to climb up, it falls down. I very luan~ |

We went to RWS today. It was a great feeling. For a moment we felt that we are overseas and not in Singapore. I was personally impressed. I am vested and believe in the long term potential of Genting Singapore. Good luck to everyone who is vested.

I am of the 'opinion' that LVS is targeting at different group of customers from RWS. LVS is capable of handling big scale conference / meetings / exhibitions of big international corporate clients. Just keep our eyes open for a good 1000 tables in a big conference hall might be on their card next round. RWS is fun-oriented and is suitable for family of young and old for their outdoor and indoor are made to welcome these groups.

For long-term investors of Genting, the key event is not the opening of RWS, but rather the opening of LVS. That's when we'll see how the competitive dynamics will play out. Eventually I think the customer will benefit, like how the local telco industry has evolved. For the short-term punter, I wish you all the best. I guess instead of shelling out $100 for the entry levy, you're choosing to gamble it on the market instead. |

if Genting fans give up their Worldcards for Marina Sands's membership, it means the end of multiple visits to Genting Highlands and Resort World Sentosa Casinos......and i believe Marina IR is going to do just that to increase revenue.... |

When the news 1st came out from the media & show only Ah Lim BaBa beside the table & all the rest of the tables’ empty, it gave me a shock & the 1st thing I imagine is Wed sell down. Luckily, the true fact surfaces & I am relief that the response is fantastic. Those people lying on the floor is typical of gamblers unwilling to leave until they get their thirst quench. There are many of them like that in Genting Highland including myself when I once slept on the bench outside Genting Casino after 2 nights of playing non-stop Jackpot. On the convertible bonds issue, guess that I think Genting is smart to force them to convert at around $1.05 to $1.08 so that BB can collect at these price where the bond holders make around 10 cts to 13 cts without knowing that the opening atmosphere can cause the share price to search up. Cheers to all investors & Happy New Yr 2010. The true is I am only predicting & nothing is 100% sure, good luck…. |

RWS has an edge due to its worldwide membership scheme but it must capitalise on it to sustain their interests for a return visit... to that i said "provide a good gaming experience through its perks for members" ....which is important for recurring revenue.... many people are waiting for Sands to open and decide which annual levy to buy..unless you are very rich to buy two... the casino sure make money since govt levy has indirectly helped them to make more... cos' people will stay in the casino longer to make the levy worthwhile (even if their luck is no good)... lastly, still can play play the stock for coffee money since so many supporters..- but don't short..buy at its low and sell at its high..hehe |

The way I see it, as long as there's not enough high rollers flocking there, the immediate future is not that promising. But upward spikes can definitely occur, especially if there are juicy rumours flying around... If the spiking does occur, then it will be a godsend opportunity to short into the peak of the wave... that's when the public is buying on a frenzy... hehehe... |

you are not wrong...the levy is not earned by them...yet they have to deploy manpower (costs), build counters (another costs) to collect the levy, and more finance people (more costs!) to tally the levy and pay to them (more and more costs)....

Not that I don't think Genting won't do well ..... clearly the jury is out on that one. But don't you all think that with the recent correction, many other stocks have become more attractive, compared to one whose catalyst is gone with the casino opening, and which doesn't have a track record compared to all the other stocks on the exchange? I do believe at least half of the stocks on the SGX are more attractive than Genting right now.

I am always bearish and bullish at the same time, I let the market do the talking... I've learnt to subordinate the ego to the market long ago. Hence I shall never go "pok!"... no way... hehehe... |

There will always be opposing views to anything. So we shall see the price of the share in one year's time.... My caveat has always been unless there is a major market correction across the globe. At the moment, the crowds (not one or two people only as you would like to reduce it to) at GS are stoking the confidence of an investor. |

Those vested will be forever seeing their company through rose-tinted lenses unless the casino only has one visitor. If it has two, they will say hey, the crowd has DOUBLED!

I think the nay sayers forgot the reality of the stock market is first - confidence, second - confidence and third - confidence again. Numbers are good but remember, every crashes happened because of loss of confidence which is even harder to gain/regain than profits. You can say all you want about GS, but if the eyes see the crowds and the cash/chips they are raking into their coffers each day, it is hard to paint a scary picture to shoo off the investors.

Haha... :) Me no supporter - juz being a practical minor shareholder. Is not investing a matter of sentiments apart from analysising the financials? Muz go there and take a look mah so that I can feel at ease with my investment. I muz see for myself that thy do their part to bring in visitors. With vistors, then got revenue, then means something for us investors in the form of share price going up. If these RWS people never do their part in serving visitors, then, hor, I definitely let go.
