We use  TA all the time to time our entry and exit.  Why do we look at volume indicator? Its tells us if there are more or less buyer or seller during a particular time OR an unusual volume compared to the other days. Why do we look at ADX? It tells us the strength of a trend. Why do we look at CCI? It tells us when it will be oversold and overbought during a ranging phase (consolidation).  When ppl say " Oh there is a Doji" , most ppl will implied that as a A Clear Trend Reversal Signal So in some sense, we do use TA as a form of prediction which is part of the trend analysis itself.  It may not be 100% accurate in the prediction bearing all unforeseen circumstances (which everything is unfortunately), BUT we use it anyway.
