as I said TA is an art. If you follow technical indicators to the dot and treat it like an exact science, you will be losing money for sure. It is how you use and interpret the data that counts. Traders lose big money not because of TA. The issue is with the trader and not TA. Smiley

Interesting.  Wish you could elaborate more.  I once tried trading using only TA for 3 months.  I found that even when all the indicators cross-over (golden, death cross), Bollinger band, Williams, RSI, patterns (like head and shoulder, etc) and momentum show one direction, I could still lose money. Of course I am no expert in TA. My final score, no win no lose.  On the other hand, Buffet style picks performed better, though we don have his research and bargaining power nor his ability to move markets.

Sifu really good analyst.  Saw many of my friends very " chamm" (bad shape) continue to lose and lose and lose until now dare not play anymore.

Most of them are newbies, but many of them are also " seasoned" players.  Some don't have much capital left, some say lock up for future. 

Our market is obviously in a rigged state. Even if you don't call it as rigging as it sounds bad, it is a known secret that most of the money the market players lost went to the " dark pool" obviously machine managed. 

People who are addicted to the stock market should play small or give up quickly, this is my sincere advice.

  But the majority of players will average down and down, until they " p!" .

      This is because humans are always " mm kam guan" with  the market,

i like that....Maths and Events ..

actually using TA/Charting, ppl will keep seeing many signals..different ppl see different lines/points/patterns...left/right/center.. until one is confused, scared or over-confidence...

however chart lets one knows the price history of a stock, so it is no harm having a look at it, but the news and events are the main driver...of course, the BBs using these to manipulate the market...

Pre-Open and pre-close hours don't mean much in Singapore.  Not much movements from previous day or from day's closing.

In the US trading in pre-market is interesting and it starts from  Sg 7.00pm to market open Sg 9.30pm. Then post-trading after the market close will be from 4.00 am to 7.00 a.m.  The market really will move up or down and if you feel like buying or selling, you can still do it.

Singapore pre-ooen and pre-close are just for show. Not worth to look at.  I'm not anti-Singapore, hor.  I just lament it deteriorating in many aspects standards, gayment, governance and minds.
