FerroChina 3QFY07 net profit surges 87.7% to RMB101.9 million; completes Superb Team acquisition - Earnings accelerate with increased contributions from associates as one additional 300,000 mt reverse cold rolling mill started production in May 2007. - One-off rebate from raw material supplier arising from purchases of raw material in previous quarter. - Superb Team acquisition catapults FerroChina market capitalization to S$2 billion, making it among the top ten S-Chip companies on SGX. When FerroChina reported second quarter result which was down about -8% (cannot remember the figure), the market shot down the share price by 10 -15c to $1.90. Take a look FerroChina's share price now and its third quarter result, which is a 87% increase in profit. The last traded price for this stock was about $2.57. I still remember when the stock was about 90c, there were comments on "TA bearish signals" indicating a "downward" trend. |

Saw this at CNA Revenue for 2nd quarter 2007 1,004,037 Revenue for 3rd quarter 2007 1,161,705 Change Q on Q Revenue +15% Gross Profit for 2nd quarter 2007 93,367 Gross Profit for 3rd quarter 2007 115,820 Change Q on Q Gross Profit +24% Revenue for 1st Quarter 2007 1,123,604 Gross Profit for 1st Quarter 2007 107,732 Noted that the 2nd quarter results showed a drop in revenue and profit from the 1st quarter, which was disappointing but the news on Superb Team Acquisition drove Ferrochina stock price up. So now with the completion of Superb Team and profits that beat analyst expectations (DBS Vickers was expecting >70% growth) it looks like Ferrochina will be heading north. At the last closing price of 2.57, the PE based on EPS of 23.09 is 11X based on current EPS of 23.09 and a PE of 12X, the stock price would be $2.77. Cheong ar!!!!!!! |

the BIG picture... that is what those Analyst trying hard to present to us in their report... The two big question here are: a. What were the causes of the drop on their profit despite of the huge raise in their revenue? b. Will this scenario be repeated in the coming quarters? If you can answer these two questions, you will able to figure out why these 4 analysts are so bullish are this Ferrochina in the quarters... despite of what were happened in the last quarter. |
