Earnings for Neptune Orient Lines turned around in 3Q12 after 6 consecutive quarters of losses. But net profit of US$50m came in at the lower end of consensus estimates, as Asia- Europe rates slid faster than expected towards the end of the quarter. Profitability may not be sustained in the following quarters. With fuel prices holding up and disappointing trade data from Europe, we expect a core net loss of US$217m in FY12, and lower our FY13 net profit estimate by 10% to US$178m. Maintain HOLD TP inched up to S$1.26 (1x P/BV) (Prev S$ 1.23) as we roll over to FY13. |

No, the whole 2012 year will still report in loss. After including the profit from selling the building, NOL still make loss of 120mil. The 4Q will earn about 0 to 100mil. NOL has mentioned clearly in their report, 2012 will make loss. However, you can buy NOL now. I saw new CEO Mr Ng result for cost cutting. A company which show profit margin improve with administration cost reduce, operational cost reduce and etc, without boosting by reveune is a very good sign for turn over. I believe NOL will be good in 2013.

tks for the info :) Just my guess,
the 4th quarter could b the big big one, just my guess, anyway tis counter is trading at 1.4 in the loss making quarters, still at gd px, cheers!! :) |
