x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I know it's probably a bit too much to ask, but can someone just please, please talk about the company's business and its strategies and prospects instead of just the share price all the time ? Share price is the LEAST important aspect of a company - everything else matters so much more ! Its stakeholders, management, customers, suppliers, employees, strategies and plans. The numbers which tell the story about a company and can give insights into its financial strength. Why doesn't someone comment on this ? This is what's important in investing, share prices are only important for speculators. If you are an investor, you own part of a business and that's the way it should be. If you own a business, you would want to know how the business is doing and u are then using a business analyst's perspective to value it, rather than just concentrating on the market price. This single-minded focus on the share price - it is excessive and unnecessary and consumes too much of people's time when they should really just be looking at buying great businesses at margin of safety. Gross margins down to 28.7% from 35.0% in 2Q08, while delay in delivery of new vessel led to higher costs incurred from use of third-party vessels. Citi says offshore support vessel owners like Ezra have little choice but bear costs of delivery delays, possible budget overruns due to tight yard capacity, severe equipment shortage across industry. But keeps Buy call, as business model provides stable earnings.

Adds, "Ezra's earnings disappointed with core net profit only 69% of our full-year forecast, we expect some negative reaction by the market on the back of the poor results." Broker cuts target price to $3.00 from $3.26, but maintains Buy rating as company may continue to benefit from rising demand for its services. But JP Morgan says results slightly ahead of hopes; "Ezra posted strong 3Q08 results, about 9% ahead of our expectations." Reiterates Overweight rating with unchanged $4.00 target price. OCBC Investment Research also gives results thumbs up; says results strong, show good earnings visibility; reiterates Buy rating but cuts target price to $3.30 from $4.03 to reflect "reduced investor appetite."

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Ezra associate EOC Ltd. has secured a US$400 million contract to lease out its floating production storage and offloading vessel to a Southeast Asian oil company. In a filing to the Singapore Exchange late Tue, Ezra, which owns a 48.9% stake in EOC, said that the three-year charter contract is the largest in value terms. "This three-year contract with an extension option for two years is expected to add positively to our bottom-line from financial year 2009," Ezra''s Managing Director, Lionel Lee, said in the statement.

The note will be issued in different currencies including the Singapore dollar, in various amounts and tenors, and bearing fixed, floating or various interest rates, Ezra said. Hybrid notes and zero coupon notes may also be issued. United Overseas Bank is the arranger of the deal and dealer of the programme, Ezra said. Barclays is also a dealer of the programme.
