becos yr 2 postings below oredi expose yr MA HOU PAO ,irritating snobbish attitude,  just playing around with words, very typical of those 20plus-yrs-old  working-class fresh school-leaver  forumners that read some books on stocks,  that's all  but always like to pretend to come forum act as " experts" posting their impractical nonsense stock investing theories  and also same pattern like  isolater clown that now got bombarded left, right, centre from many forumners now in Capland's thread. u read my post carefully,! For forum's leisure discussion I just said what's u guys 's GUESS on yanlord's price in 1 year's time in CNY2012! But u put words into my month that I'm asking for PREDICTION on yanlord's price by a certain period. and then u snobbishly come act MA HOU PAO saying all yr IMPRACTICAL theories that ONLY buy stock during market crashes blah, blah, blah. Many such irritating snobbish working-class 20plus-yrs-old fresh school leavers/or just fresh from completing a stock course, then start a blog, then always come post many wrong assumptions and impractical zhi shang tan bing theories in stock forums such as u.. Also I just post my 1 simple line my broker say for long-term investment he prefer Yanlord versus Capland, but u oredi snobbishly make so make false assumptions etc. WHERE THE HELL DID I SAY BROKER'S AND ANAYLSTS'S VIEWS ARE 100% RIGHT?!

We are here for healthy discussion. everyone have different investment objective and time horizon. For those whose objective and time horizon are similar to Warren Buffett, yes, he don't buy into under valued company every few months, or sometime years. He could probably buy few company in every few years, and will most likely hold it very long term, 10 years, 20 years or longer. if your objective if for dividend, you could buy into those high yield stock which stock price may not move much over the years. if you are looking for quick appreciation, you may look for those fast growing companies. It also depends on your risk appetite. for your question weather yanlord will be suspended in the next few years.. i guess one have the crystal ball to the answer. weather will it double in the next 1-3 years? well, who can predict anything in 1-3 years time frame? Cosco went up from from 25cents to $8 and now still at $2+. I believed there are still tons of people who got trapped in those $8 and still holding it. But who knows, it may went up to $8 again in future. But who can know for sure? it all depends on each individual's objective and time horizon.  Eg. for your UOB, what is your objective and time horizon? are you in for dividend? or for capital appreciation, or both? how long you plan to hold? each of us may have different answer for these questions but we should know the answer. For another question, what do you think the price of UOB in the next 3 years? Does anyone has any clear clue or answer for it? No can can believed and predict that AIG can drop from over $50 to below $0.40!! i did catch AIG at $0.45. i just set aside $5k that I'm willing to forget about it to try my luck. my objective for this investment is to strike a jackpot, my risk is $5k (willing to lose everything), and my time horizon is 10 years. well, it is worth around $17k now. i have no plan to sell it.  i'm just sharing what i think, and i hope we can hope a constructive discussion about stock. cheers!!

walan u, yr above post oredi showed u obviously MA HOU PAO liao! that USA subprime  OCT 2008 to March 2009 crisis only happens once in many years and also very unexpectedly . Also it's very naive for u say if buy long-term, buy only during market crash becos number 1 nobody will know which period is the bottom or which period is the market crash, it's always after many months after it happened, then 99% of people realized it's market crash during tat time. Does that mean we should only click buys at  March   2003(SARS crisis) and at March 2009 AND in between the 6 years we must not buy any stock at all? Also if buying blue-chips/good stocks for long-term, so long as NOT buy at near the TOP , if hold for long-term my past experience is still can win money even if buy at historical mid-point range of the counter's price. Eg, I did buy  2 lots at UOB at $13 and $11.90  during the severe correction in oct 2008, later next few months it did drop further to $8.10 but becos I hold long-term so now I still win. UOB now $19ish . In fact, after UOB rebounded 100% in share price after $8.10 bottom to surge to about $15 a few months later, I bought another 2 lots at $15.10 and $15.50 but I still profit becos UOB now $19. 99% of people CANNOT catch a stock at very near its bottom price.

Hello  whencanchange, To me, i will choose not to believe broker's prediction. They are merely telling you what was written in the  analyst's report. Even the God of Investor, Warren Buffett, dare not predict how much the price of a stock will be in future! No one can predict the future! In my opinion, if i want to buy stock for long term, i will only buy the super blue chip stock during market crash. example, if you buy OCBC/UOB/DBS during US's sub-prime crisis in March/April 2009, all of you holding on the 3 banks are already more than double as of now (in 2 years time). off course, the question is will you be buying when the whole market is full of fear!!  just my 2 cents :) http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pick-The-Winning-Stock/108979645853653

do u guys think Yanlord being a s-chip may be suspended in next few years? what's the likelihood? I'm vested in tis, intend to hold for long-term but I always have this worry about whether will yanlord be suspended in the next few years or not since it's an s-chip? BTW, wats u people's guess on Yanlord price by CNY 2012? My broker say Yanlord if hold for 1-3 years, VERY high chance to double in share price to $3 whereas he said Capland which will also rise in the same period but is unlikely to double to $7 from current $3.45. |

Do you think people are generally bearish about this counter? Do you think it is oversold? Do you think the present price is doing an injustice to  its underlying business, prospects and earnings? If your answer is yes to all of the above, what's holding you back from buying? If you were willing to buy at $2+, wouldn't it be a better offer to  stock up more  at $1.50? The true test of your faith in this counter will come when other counters go up instead of this one.  Whether you give up(sell  low)  and  follow the crowd to chase  other counters  or maintain your faith that it will  one day FLY higher than the rest. |

wah...so rich. the dividend is pathetic though I'll have to agree. But my paper loss is -2000 plus...1/3 of initial capital gone. maybe i'll sell it at a loss if i happened to rich 1.80 - 1.90 range...or perhaps an average down at current price...still thinking

I bought 3 lots at 2.46....crazily high I know. That time was before all the property measures etc....but have to agree that Yanlord in one of the S-chip that is more reputable....but never know. Still thinking if I should average it....afraid that I'll be trap again with more cash in this counter.

Yanlord has seen more selling pressure than buying pressure. 1.50 level must hold, otherwise, it will continue to go down. Infact, Yanlord is in my list to Short. next week will be crucial for Yanlord.

Yanlord has been in down trend since Aug 2009. It is now trading at 1.5 critical. It may be in the tight range bound between 1.50 to 1.60 for the next few days. 1.50 support must hold, otherwise, 1.35 will be the next support level. http://pick-the-winning-stock.blogspot.com/
