Here is the next illustration about Capitalism in the Company. As a part of money machine, a company is created to help production process. Since production will need group of people to be operated, the concept of employee and employer is exists. Employer will pay their employees montly wage. On the first time, employer will think of corporate cashflow. On the first round, employer is satisfied with the profit and employee will live on salary. If supply and demand is equel ... there will be no inflation. The greed is coming then. Employer need more profit, employee need increase in their salary. The problem is profitabilty in a company should be generated by sales, because of urgency and pressure from the need of salary increment, the employer bear the cost to the product. It is looked like a simple thing. The employer only need to protect their profit margin, on the other side .. can satisfy their employees. But most of employer don't mind what will happend next. With the increment of the price, it will effect others production's chain who is using their product. After a period of time, others have to push their production cost, and it will finally generate new standard of living when everyone follows to increase their product cost. It's back to the beginning, our salary increament becomes meaningless. |

Here is one simple illustration about how market price is hiking because of human capitalism. Times ago we were satisfied with only 3 times meal, with only some vagetables, chicken and fish. This situation made food supply in market equal with demand. Everybody could work without no food worries at all. But one day, we found the concept of wealthy people, and ever since everybody pursues it. Becoming the wealthy people, our habit is changing too. We are training become a consumre. For example, we don't eat because of we need, but for entertaiment. We usually need 3 times of meal, now we eat more than 3 times. And the worst part is, the portion of our meal ... it's double, triple or .. look at the buffet-type restorant. For you comparison, times ago, 1 chicken could be eaten by the whole famile of 4 members. But now, last time when I passed by New York restourant, a family was eating there with 1 chicken on the plate for each adult and 1/2 chicken for their children. This life style increases our demand to supplier. The worst part is our supplier is limited and they are getting pressure from the cost generated by our habit, consumerism.... |

This kind of issue is predictable. All the world is implementing Capitalization now. It means everyone is only concern about their own wealth. (Me to .. ) Even though, you do donation back, you are still be a part of big capitalization group. With this system is keep going, few years later, the poverty will rising faster and faster. The poverty is not generated by the small income, but by lifestyle. Wealthy people will keep creating new lifestyle which is accomodatable and efficient for them, they think it's cheaper, but the average people will suffer by the cost. Remember 1% for wealthy person .. it can cost 100% for average people. |

There is no good ref for pay scale, in Spore. However, over the courseway, Union Chief crying for min wage of RM 1200, eq S$517. A family of 6 can survive with parent earning not more than a k a mth. But for some, 3 k a mth with family of 3, yielding in wet markets and restaurants that life is tough, as the family, nowadays can only hv shark fins' dinner once a week???? AK workless, can't affort leow and even to make noises on the street leh, he he. The moral of the story is that you hv to maintain your life style according to your means. Don't compare with others, ha ha " people compare people air die people" wise saying simply means you will get frustrated if you tends to compare your own self with others around you, worst, those posted in paper, smart dressed and good looking sams or gals. Hence, relax lah, jangan tension as always AK says. |

I have a friend whose hubby earns less then $1600. Just nice for applying all sorts of hand outs. So she apply immediately apply whenever she knows that there are subsidies and handouts. Quite boostful at being able to get all sorts of and don't need to work so hard. Don't ever think of upgrading. I'd say for some cases, food is more logical.

Sometimes cash will generate another set of problem. So food like Milo, Oats, Cereal, diapers and other necessities will be useful to them. However, your suggestion to buy in bulk will certainly save some money.

Amid the food price increases, the ones who suffer the most are the poor. The impact has hit them pretty bad. I recently participated in a donation drive with some old age home. They requested for food donations rather than cash donations because the food prices keep rising. |

Jangan tension, BT said, IMF reports find that real commodity prices decline over the long term. As for local, while food prices hv risen sharpy in recent yrs, empirical studies suggest that the upward trend is unlikely to continue in the long run. Incidentally, BT posted via CEO of Providend, mentioned that don't trust the so-called the Experts in fund managing arena. Ah yah, what a contrary. Give up leow. |

.. for some light reading over the public holiday .. : ) though somewhat late ... this might answer stupidfool's question last week on the food crisis ... (hmm ... just how effective will UN be ? ... up by $10/- down by $1/- ... well i suppose ..something is better than nothing ..hahaha ! .. wonder to what extend the speculators were responsible to this price spikes .. this hype .. were they trying to make up for their shortfall in the subprime crisis ? ..hahaha ! ) -------------------------------------------------- UN chief tackles food crisis head-on Task force set up to find medium- and long-term solutions to stave off shortages BERNE - UNITED Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon yesterday ordered a top-level task force to take on the global crisis caused by rising food prices and urged key producer nations to end export bans. 'The first and immediate priority that we all agree is that we must feed the hungry,' Mr Ban said after a meeting of 27 international agency heads. Food price rises have caused hunger, riots and hoarding in poor countries. Mr Ban urged countries such as Brazil and Egypt to immediately drop export restrictions on certain foods and commodities, saying they have reduced supplies and contributed to price hikes. Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, India and Egypt have all limited the export of certain produce in order to ensure food security for their populations. UN agency chiefs, meanwhile, have agreed on a series of measures for the medium and long term. The first priority will be meeting the US$755 million (S$1 billion) shortfall in funding for the World Food Programme (WFP). 'Without full funding of these emergency requirements we risk again the spectre of widespread hunger, malnutrition and social unrest on an unprecedented scale,' Mr Ban told reporters in the Swiss capital, where the agency chiefs have been meeting. WFP head Josette Sheeran said: 'We have pledges of US$471 million, but only US$18 million is cash in hand. We can't procure food until we have cash in hand.' Also urgent is the need to ensure food for tomorrow by supporting farmers in poorer countries, Mr Ban said. 'In addition to increasing food prices, we see at the same time farmers in developing countries planting less, producing less, due to the escalating costs of fertiliser and energy,' he said. 'We must make every effort to support those farmers so that in the coming year we do not see even more severe food shortages.' Mr Ban identified a number of causes of the food crisis. These included climate change, long spells of drought, changing consumption patterns in major developing countries and the planting of crops for biofuel. In just one example of the scale of the problem, the WFP warned that soaring rice prices have forced it to stop supplying free breakfasts to 450,000 poor Cambodian schoolchildren. The agency said the programme was suspended because it could not afford to pay the current high prices for rice, which accounts for 76 per cent of the school breakfasts. Mr Ban said new measures had to go further than just providing emergency food relief. The UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has developed a US$1.7 billion plan to provide seeds for farmers in the world's poorest countries, he said. 'We must make every effort to support those farmers,' he said. The UN chief said he hoped world leaders would attend a June meeting in Rome to find ways to alleviate the food crisis. He said the international community had not listened to warnings from the FAO and others. 'This time the whole United Nations is now leading this campaign to address this issue,' he said. World Bank president Robert Zoellick, who also attended the meeting, said that 100 million people have been pushed into poverty over the past two years. 'This is not a natural disaster,' he said. 'I think we've now got the attention of the world community. We can't just replay this year after year after year.' If you are convenient, go for gym loh, instead of running or jogging, esp if you are not that young. BTW, if you are not that young, 50 and above, pse don't try the uncontrolled male bottom's stimulants sold at unauthorised areas. Two heros died already, press said.
