avenger well said, I like it, I hope to apply it to myself too. the first thing is to be positive, that attract positive outcome. even thot at 'this time' that is paper lost or actual lost, the market is here to stay, we people are here to live, there is always opportunity again. when we lost we learnt ourselves and become better, more careful, less greedy, and so on. wish everyone can learn and make better decision in future. if we are stuck with holding, nevermind, hold longer term... Asia growth is positive for many years to come. Asia Pacific grow is faster and some day it will become a bigger pie in the world. Thot USA is very large, China is catching up, due to its large population, their consumption is increasing drastically, same as India... wish all to have a better future. good luck.. more positive...cheers |

Just can't resist posting something here after reading 'One Sharer's' posting. I for one will never call anyone a failure. It's too cruel. The battle is half lost already having that name. For a start, 'Failure' should change your user name to something more positive. I have also lost $$$$$ (daren't count) should be much more than 'Failure's' amount as I have been trading since CLOB days. I am determined to win all my lost $$$$$ and I will make sure I win the market this time, no matter how long it takes! That's why my user name speaks my intention. Always preserve your funds to survive another day in the market. If your trade turns against you, just cut loss. It's safer to go back into the market when the trend is clearer and on the upturn. Doesn't matter if you buy a few cents higher as you know you are making winning trades. 'Failure', you mustn't give up! If you change your mindset and be more positive, you will make back your $$$$$! |

The fund managers have cashed out their money. Almost all the stocks are cheap and I can called to say BUY on most stocks. I guess we just have to hold it if you can as long as possible. I feel we are in year jan 2007...not 200Fa |

Thanks Failure for your selfless sharing. Find it hard to call anybody by that name. Afterall, $ isn't everything in life. Heard that it is not good to jump into the market after much losing, may not be emotionally ready to trade. Think there is an article in SJ somewhere her. Thinking whether I should adopt the "bear"-ish market trading strategy these days: "play dead". Then again, tradings do develop itchy hands. |

Maybe you guys might want to look at some stocks which I feel the market has ignored, might be trading below book value yet profitable. My picks: PNE Ind. (0.11, but NAV 0.16, latest FY up 30+% in profit) Metal Components (0.11, but NAV 0.15, OCBC Securities largest shareholder, with at least 17% stake, turn around in HY 07 from loss of $5.4 million to $1.8 million profit) Do your own research. Just some hint for you so that you need not search the whole SGX for undervalued companies. |

Singgal & others, Well yeah, i found other ebooks there too. including some current online ebooks which Mani and me is selling.. Yes even Genie & a few forex ebooks are found in esnips.com too. also i found some scanned books which i thinking of buying from stores. the only thing is u need to search hard enough and be creative in your search words as esnips has lousy search engine. save the $, find those ebooks or books there 1st before buying any? lol? |

I guess in times like this, timing is one of the key factors to make profit. But this is like a gamble cos you can't really tell if the bottom you bought at is really the bottom. BBs have the key, we tag along. I gave up on research anlaysts' recommendation. When the stock is up, they give good target price. When stock price come down, they also cut tp. How many stocks out there currently are really near the stated tp? |

Buying shares is like playing mahjong. It consists of 2 components: Luck and Skills. Skills will help you to lose less in the event that you run out of Luck. |

TA and FA will not hold well when sentiments override all trading decisions. It's basically panic now. The only way to trade now is to watch the momentum. Even then it's not going to be even remotely easy. |

Hi failure, I do think that its a matter of bad timing for you (not that the stocks u pick are lousy). I've friends who bought sgx and made double out of it. Put it this way, good stocks bought at wrong time = lose money. Also, best not to chase a soaring stock or catch a falling knife (seems like u fall into this category of investors.) Lastly, dun call yrself failure la, almost everyone lost money in the stock market. To me, u're only a failure when u fail to try. |
