Why is the commission so high in Singapore?

am too thinking of trading less for the coming year...hoping to reduce fees and increase profit.

How many of you really check the rate of the commission for your trades?  If you do, you will resist trading, I am sure. Like me, I am going to do lesser trading in and out. 

My resolution for 2010 is, trade less and if I buy I must keep it for at least 2 months, otherwise don't buy at all.

hotokee's statement is Very TRUE....

Singapore is a brokers cornered market.

They DON'T compete.

It is ridiculous that with 1,000 shares, investor loses money when the stock rises by 1 Tick but the broker makes S$40 on Buy and another S$40 on SELL in the same transaction.

This is a WIN-LOSE DEAL.

SURE WIN for BROKER and SURE LOSE for investor. 

Trade in the US markets for FAIR BROKERAGE and WIN-WIN DEAL.
