Exactly... I once attended a "massive profits" preview by a woman coach and was very appalled by the extreme enthusiasm of the host and helpers, who were obviously passionate about earning their living doing it... They were so passionate in promoting their wares and getting people to sign up that I immediately smelled a rat!...

ThinkofStock, yes very true. I mostly find myself making the mistake of chasing stocks. When I see a stock starting to move, I stayed too long to make a decision. But with every move up, there is a strong urge to get a piece of the action. The result? Mostly found myself near the peak already. Then either exit with a small profit if lucky, and more often then not some losses when the stock succumbed to profit taking. Thus in order to learn to make money in stocks, we have to discipline ourselves, learn to have patience and seize an opportunity at the right moment. Patience counts alot, and many people lack this quality or rather "virtue" as it is a good trait of the human character. I believe everyone should learn to have this virtue. Just look at the fisherman, the angler. He puts his baits into the waters and slowly wait. He really wait and wait until the fish comes to his hook. No hurry at all to get his catch and eventually he will put a smile on his face. His meal for the day is well earned. |

I strongly agree with this advice. Discipline and patient are very important. I do investing stock recently and I find myself have an urge to buy when seeing a stock keep going up, cos you dont want to lose out. It is very dangerous to chase a stock. Must be very patient to wait for the right time to enter and exit.

There are many trading systems on sale out there and I think you are right. They are questionable. If the sys can make money they will not be selling them. I think those trading sys on sale are scams.

as good as buying at the highest/lowest price and hoping that someone else will buy from you higer/lower price. would someone who has a trading system that can make big $$$$$$$$$ would want to spend hours standing on stage instead of more time with their loveones and not forgetting throwing the thousands of $$$$$$$$$$ on advertisments trying to hard sell a $$$$$$$ making system to you. ![]() |

I think what you want is not trading but investment. First and foremost, planning is what you have to do. You have to understand the risk you are about to take. Check the amount of money you want to put in the investment. Are you prepared to lose your capital? This is very important because it can happen with this sort of investment, every single cent burnt if you have a wrong pick. If you are not able to risk the full capital, then you must know how much capital you are willing to lose. This is in the case of cutting losses. Once you have decided you must begin to study what are the sectors of business you are familiar with or have in mind for the stocks of the listed companies you want to invest. Then you approportion your capital into various amounts each for a sector you choose. After that, wait for the opportunity to enter the market. The best time will be when the market is not too heated up. It is still alright whether bull or bear if you have researched your picks. Bid your time to buy until you are fully vested with your capital and wait for it to grow until you have reached the target of your investment objectives. Discipline is an important aspect as well. Without discipline you can lose your money. Happy investing. |

Hi, have been "indulging" in stocks for few years and have yet to discover a good system of investment in stocks. It is not like learn how to read charts and things like that, but how to have a good strategy for your money in stocks. Can you offer some advice for benefit of all forumers? | ||||
