It will issue 28 mln new shares at $0.255 each, to raise about $6.97 mln in net proceeds for working capital needs. The share price represents a 9.3% discount from the weighted average share price of $0.2812 for trades done on November 24, the company said. See Hup Seng said Merrill Lynch has a 5.67% in the new share placement, which amounts to about 9.33% of its enlarged share capital. "The company will use the proceeds of the placement to fund the working capital needs for the company's increased tank coating, blasting and painting projects; investment in new plant and equipment as well as any subsequent investments which the board of directors may approve," See Hup Seng said. See Hup Seng will resume trading tomorrow. |

SHS is buying Speedo Corrosion Control for $3.5m. $1.85m will be funded by issuing 10m new SHS shares at $0.185. The balance will be paid by cash in instalments. Speedo Corrosion specialises in the business of contractors for and consultants of corrosion control services principally for the marine and offshore industries. SHS said that Speedo Corrosion will contribute significantly to its business after acquisition. Perhaps SHS shares were ramped up so that it can issue shares at $0.185. May be a case of "buy on rumour, sell on news". I don't see how this news can be so positive. By the way, this company lost $1.56m in FY05. |

The company placed out 18.8m shares at $0.11 with an option to subscribe for a further 18.8m shares with an option excercise price of $0.12. Be careful. Price surge could be just before the placement of shares. |

SSH won a $11.7m contract to supply steel plates for an offshore gas platform owned by Conoco-Phillips in Indonesia's gas-rich Natuna region. SSH chairman Kris Wiluan who has substantial stakes in KS Energy and KS's subsidairy Aqua-Terra, has not ruled out a merger of the 3 companies. If this happens, SSH stands to benefit the most. Indonesia spends around US$5-US$8 b on services and equipment for oil & gas fields annually. |
