The US cannot keep raising interest rate as it will affect economic growth. I am quite sure though the the US dollar shall come down in long term although if interest rate is raised at next FMOC meeting, US dollar shall raise |

Replying to nostradamus: the rising commodity pand oil prices are a sure pain in the ass for the economy. i am afraid that the FED will not only raise interest rate, it will exceed expectation. Gosh if that happens, the like 10% crash in dow jones is possible rit. I wonder will that happen. guess too many people are hoping they wont raise interest rate. And when they do, then all the analyst will "peng we" (Change their stand) and say that they feel the economy wont be bullish anymore. |

The current Fed funds rate is 5%. If the price of oil and other commodities continue to be high, inflation will rise. And the Fed would have no choice but to hike interest rate at the next FOMC meeting. How the market moves would depend on the Fed's indication of whether further tightening is necessary after the meeting. |
