INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDING CONTRACT IN MALAYSIA AND LICENSE

UPGRADE

The Board of Directors of United Fiber System Ltd (“Unifiber” or “the Company”) is

pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Sin Poh Lian Sdn Bhd has been

awarded a contract to build all the internal infrastructure works (the “Project”) for a

mixed housing development project in Mount Austin, Johor Bahru by Niceyear

Development Sdn Bhd for RM9.8 million (or approximately SGD4.0 million). The

Project is the continuation to the recent awards of the building contracts worth RM92

million by the same developer, announced by the Company on 14 September 2009,

resulting in a total combined contract sum of approximately RM102 Millions for the

same development.

As per the recent announcement on 14 September 2009, the overall contracts consist

of two developments projects located at Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, and

comprise in total 268 units of single-storey terrace houses, 588 units of double-storey

terrace houses and 52 cluster houses. Construction is expected to commence in

October 2009 and is scheduled to complete by September 2012.

The infrastructure award is in line with the recent license upgrade held by the

Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Poh Lian Construction Pte Ltd (“Poh Lian”) by the

Building and Construction Authority of Singapore from grade C1 to A2 under the CW02

category, which governs civil works. With the new upgrade, Poh Lian, who also holds

an A1 license, is able to participate in more civil and infrastructure tenders in Singapore

by Land Transport Authority, as well as other public works in Malaysia, Brunei and

UAE.

The Project is not expected to have a material impact on the results for the year ending

31 December 2009. None of the Directors or substantial shareholders of the Company

have any interest, direct or indirect, in the above-mentioned transaction.
