Big, Vista would require 512MB of RAM, according to MS, and 1GB to be optimum. If DDR2 prices continue to climb, machines to run Windows Vista, Microsoft's next-generation operating system may cost more when it debuts in January 2007 for consumers. Vista should be memory intensive. UTAC's plan to ramp up DDR2 DRAM assembly significantly started last year. Too early to gauge response from Vista and its impact on dram prices.
