CLSA has a price target of $0.40 for this stock. It said that the IPO proceeds will significantly reduce its net gearing and increase its dividend payout. Also said that it's trading at a 50% discount to regional peers. No mention of growth over the next few years. |

Thailand's alcohol market (particularly beer) is seeing moderation in growth, given a already high per capita consumption rate. Competition and regulations have also been tightened. ThaiBev will look abroad for growth, as exports account for less than 1% of total sales. Credit Suisse forecasts 0%, 7% and 4% EPS growth for 2006/07/08. The lack of growth is due to moderating volume and increase in excise tax on brown spirits. It has a price target of $0.30, implying 2006/07E PE of 15.4x and 14.3x respectively, representing a 23% and 16% discount to regional beer peers, but the target price (TP) is justified by low growth rates. Potential overseas sales growth has not been factored into the TP. |

If the recent China IPOs are any barometer, the price should open with a bang and treble within an hour and those privileged big boys who always get the big placement lots will be laughing to the Ferrari showroom to book yet another latest model, leaving us monkeys holding the problem baby. |
