Buy Olam & Singtel when Temasek sells - they sold cuz they need funds for Shin Corp - Thailand. Both companies are good co so better grab before it goes up again... my 2 cts opinion - not an inducement to trade.. :-> |

SINGAPORE (XFN-ASIA) - China Sun, Olam International and other Singapore-listed stocks that Temasek Holdings has bought stakes in over the past two years slumped on concerns the state-linked investment agency may be planning to sell its holdings in these companies, dealers said. Fears of further Temasek share sales were trigerred by the agency's placement of 770 mln Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) shares at 2. 66 sgd earlier this week. The placement price was at a discount to the previous day's closing price for the stock. In a delayed notice to the Singapore Exchange, China Sun said Temasek's stake in the company has been cut to 4.09 pct from 6.68 following share sales in June and November last year. Dealers said Temasek may have already sold off the rest of its holdings in China Sun since then. Shareholders owning less than 5.0 pct of locally-listed firms are no longer considered substantial shareholders and have no obligation to disclose their dealings to the exchange. According to Temasek's website, it holds substantial stakes in a number of companies recently listed on the SGX. These include a 7.0 pct stake in Olam, 5.0 pct in Asiapharm, 6 pct in YHI International and 7.0 pct in KS Energy. It also holds less than 5.0 pct stakes each in Hyflux and Asiapharm. China Sun was down 0.04 sgd or 5.76 pct at 0.655; Olam was down 0.04 sgd or 2.47 pct at 1.58; KS Energy was down 0.06 or 2.02 pct at 2.91; Hyflux was down 0.03 sgd or 1.10 pct at 2.70; and Asiapharm was down 0.02 sgd or 2.61 pct at 0.745. Bucking the decline, YHI was up 0.005 sgd or 0.99 pct at 0.51. (1 usd = 1.61 sgd) |

1148 [Dow Jones] Olam (O32.SG) down 3.1% at $1.57 on active 2.4 million shares, extending 3-day 6.5% fall, amid talk Temasek Holdings selling "large chunk" of shares through UBS. But CIMB-GK''s Glenford Tan says "not surprised" if move is true, given strong run-up since Feb 11 listing last year. "It''s reasonable for pre-IPO investors like Temasek to take profits." But weakness also "excellent opportunity to pick up Olam shares" given company''s strong fundamentals. Currently has Outperform call with $1.90 target. Order book shows sell still keen at $1.59 with 762 offers, vs initial support at $1.57 with 248 bids, ahead of $1.56 with 268 bids.(CAW) |

1117 [Dow Jones] LMA International (L24.SG) down 1.5% at 98.5 cents on active 2.4 million shares, extending yesterday''s 1% fall on 2.1 million shares, likely to remain weak on news of Temasek Holdings'' share sale through JP Morgan last night; this through Aranda Investments for single block trade of 36.45 million shares at 97 cents each, or 3% discount to yesterday''s close, which nearly 6.3% of LMA''s share base. Temasek also reportedly selling "large chunk" of Olam (O32.SG) through UBS, which likely part of its ongoing divestment strategy, says trader, after placing out 770 million SingTel (T48.SG) shares on Monday. Order book for LMA shows sell interest still keen at 99 cents with 310 offers, vs initial support at 98 cents with 406 bids. Olam down 1.9% at $1.59.(CAW) |
