China to curb disorderly growth of coal industryBEIJING--China plans to accelerate reform of its coal industry, shutting smaller mines to consolidate domestic production and experimenting with tariff levels to encourage higher-quality imports, the State Council said in a draft proposal published Thursday on the central government's website. Citing falling coal prices and industry losses, China's equivalent to a cabinet said it aimed to " curb the disorderly growth of coal production." It said it would stop construction of new coal mines with less than 300,000 metric tons of annual output and gradually eliminate coal mines producing 90,000 tons or less a year. It would continue to shut unsafe coal mines and investigate mines that were illegally built or illegally exceeded approved dimensions. The government will also increase the punishment for those caught flouting the rules, though it said precise punishments would only be announced at a later date. |

thanks for the advice and giving me a jolt of reality check. I always believe in Geo fundamentally and feel it is undervalue. However, I have a cut loss target too even though this particular stock is strong in fundamental. I was thinking of selling at 0,3 and buy back when it his .27 or something hoping it will drop.

When i saw my stock alert, i thought someone throw me at 290.. But the alert is for 315.. Don't know want to laugh or cry... My 315 is not a sell alert, is just a who buy up alert... My 290 is a buy alert, if got any again... |

I suggest u buy because of fundamentals, buy a stock that u can sleep peacefully at night because u believe the stock is undervalued. If u buy because of price movement very high chance that u might be wrong many times, with many disappointment i.e. stock starts flying after u sell, drop after you buy. You seem to be buying to ride the tide..that's no good. Many ppl ride the Blumont's, Asiason's and Liongold's tide know nothing but believing the stock will go higher next day. As long as I believe the stock I bought at that price is undervalued, I ll hold it forever till fundamentals changes.

I think geo is going to bounce from here? I bought at 0.385 . cut at 0.3 two weeks back. However I just bought back at 0.31 during pre closing. Hope I am spot on this time, my gut feeling told me HUAT!

I don't bother about market noises. Unless u believe mr market is efficient ,which isnt to begin with- looking at Blumon, Asiasons Liongold. cheap can become cheaper, overvalued can become more overvalued. If u find this stock has fundamentals problem, please sell it asap, or wait for a bounce. If you believe this stock is good, hold regardless of the price. But judging from your market behavior, you are focusing too much on price action, because of a recent drop. And I believe more on a bottom up approach compared to teochew using a top down approach by generalizing things. Indoagri is one Indonesia company doing well. with cash/share around $0.30. and decent debt levels. and they have been doing sharebuybacks @ 0.80 and below. The drop is due to falling CPO and weakening Rupiah. with Indofood as backing I don't see much of an issue. GeoEnergy too, it's because it's affected by weakning coal prices, and afraid that China and the world will be using more cleaner energy. Also, recent selldown in the three 'famous companies' related to mining somehow, generated some panic in this stock too. So please stop generalizing without any facts. |

Don't ever trust the Indonesians, just ask yourself a simple question - Any published listed companies in Singapore that are controlled by Indonesians are performing well in term of share price or net profit. The answer is " " Nil" .

Based on the short report, the amount of shorts have been very insignificant or event not for the last 2 weeks but people just keep selling off their share at a lower pricing. Wonder is this due to confidence issue or really this company is no longer value to invest in. Any comments. | ||||

Geo energy has only about 5% of their revenue to China last two years. The seaborne trade with China is almost non-existent, but is expected to improve next year. Though China use of coal is likely to decrease long term, it has also closed several smaller coal mines for safety reasons, which has crimped supply. Further, domestic Indonesian demand and rising demand from India will soak up any slack from China.
