2 Nov 2009 Phillip Securities

CDL Hospitality Trust (CDL HT) reported gross revenue for 3QFY09 of $22.9
million (-21.5% y-o-y, +13.1% q-o-q)), net property income (NPI) was $21.4
million (-21.5% y-o-y, +11.3% q-o-q). Distributable income was $18.6 million (-
23.7% y-o-y, +7.2 q-o-q). DPU for the quarter was 2.04 cents (-30.4% y-o-y,
+7.9% q-o-q).

Valuation and recommendation. We believe that the tourism industry is already on
the mend as can be seen from the anecdotal evident. We also believe that the
performance for 4QFY09 will be a better period as the last quarter is the seasonally
stronger period for the tourism industry. In view of the improving outlook, we revise
up our full year occupancy forecast from 74% to 80%. Our REVPAR assumption is
also raised from $144 to $152. These translate to a 4.5% improvement to FY09F
gross revenue forecast.

Our FY09 DPU forecast changes from 7.25 cents to 8.06
cents. We raise our fair value from $1.72 to $1.80 and maintain our Buy
recommendation

Tough challenge for Singtel to wire up the remaining household within 10 months. See no reason not to accept Starhub's offer (free) other than saving its own face. Moreover, if Singtel refuses to accept, it will anger quite a number of subscribers and this is poor PR and lack of social responsibility on Singtel.

Currently Singtel has not wire up all the household for Mio TV and they might be forced by regulator to tap on Starhub CableTV to reach out to these household.

Now with the proposed pay tv through Starhub box, Singtel is in a fix. Should be a positive move by Starhub to retain subscribers.

There is something very wrong with this stock. By right, after the almagation of stocks (4 to 1), it should be worth a least 60 cents. Get rid of it and switch now.

a very stock, no dividend declared this year and yet Directors' Fees increased from S$170K to S$173K.

Bought over so many counters - Uraco, Flairis and yet the stock is way below my breakeven price of 77cents......... Sigh !!!

Fully agreed. Many forgot about new broadband network to be rolled out in 2 years' time and Starhub has won the contract. EPL is a losing business that Singtel has to manage.

starhub is one of the best stocks to buy from the recent sell down....gives very good dividend which is substainable or more or less over many years....though the loss of EPL right may affect the revenue, the involvement in the next generation broadband network initiative by the government is a cash cow for many years beside the mobile phone license...at $1.80 plus and dividend $0.18 per year, you can easily achieve what warren buffet can achieve for the next 5 years (average 10% growth)...good luck

NB: This counter is one of the best stock to do averaging when it is in downtrend

Those who sold this counter are just following the "bad" news for losing the BPL rights without looking at the larger picture.

Do remember losing the rights does not mean StarHub profit will drop in future and bear in mind they had never ever earn back the BPL rights which they won 2 years back.

No doubt there will always be panic sellers who like to follow the headlines causing the shares to be volatile within these few weeks.

My advice to all who are still holding this shares to wait for the 3rd quarter report on 10/11/09 before you decide whether to hold or sell.

Dear MusicWhizz,

Your detailed analysis in your blog amazed me. I am surprised that you regret investing in EZRA when your return is 222% over 4 years. I too made some profit with 150% return, and still keeping 5 lots for it to reach $2.50 I am quite confident with this counter ,which has enriched me quite a bit, albeit your rationale of divesting.

What is your long term view of Boustead, Tat Hong and Pac Andes that you have invested too?

Midas is following the broad market to come down again , but if compare to those speculative counters , its pulled back is not severe . At most it would go down to fill a gap at 81 cents n is also supported by the 100MA which indicates a long term uptrend . It is an undervalue stock with excellent FA , this is a great opportunity to pick up this counter rather than stuck in those speculative ones . Mr richtan is so familiar with this counter n did many research on it , I believe in him n have faith in this counter . Some forumers may have different views , they can ask me or PM me , richtan or me will provide you with satisfactory answer .

I strongly believe this counter is a good buy now and to park in your money at this point in time (better than chasing after stocks and end up getting caught with the pants down and burnt) for the mid to long-term for those who can see value in it and with patience as it has good FA (as at this point in time) but not for those who are short-term speculative trader mindset, however, dyodd n BOSAYOR and set your stop-loss as nothing is guaranteed
