Greece's debt is fading into back ground liao...
 as data from U.S. job improve..Hahaha...Greece F.M. said - Greece's participation “surpassed expectations” and he would recommend to Cabinet the authority to activate collective action clauses. The use of collective action clauses may trigger $3 billion of insurance payouts under rules governing credit-default swap contracts. |

Job Cuts Fell 3.3% in February, jobless claims numbers reveal companies are cutting jobs at lower rate than they were during the recession. Yesterday’s rebound was a tad stronger than expected but nonetheless is still trading within its minor downtrend channel. We remain bearish on the STI in the near term, as we see further weakness towards 2,889 and also its 200-day SMA at 2,880. Near term prices could be resisted around the 3,000-3,010 levels. Any relief rebound is a chance to unload at a higher price. Our bearish view could be delayed a tad if the bulls can muster the strength to push prices past the 3,031 high. The channel resistance rises towards 3,050 next. - DBS |

This means that €25 billion in Greek law bonds have not - these are the hedge funds that could not be Steven Rattnered into participating, and will now sue Greece for par recoveries.This is also the number that ISDA will look at today to determine if, in conjunction with the CAC, means a credit event has occurred. woohoo Cheer

85.8% voluntary consent is not enough, so now Greece need to trigger " collective action clause" to achieve over min. 90% participation rate. Hopefully this " involuntary" collective action clause does not trigger a credit default swap payout, otherwise world mkt will crash!.

Greece says 85.8% bondholders accept swap offerHONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Greece said on Friday that bondholders with 85.8% of private sector debt have accepted its bond swap offer. The country will also activate collective action clauses in its bond agreements, which would effectively force all private bondholders to participate in the swap. Of the roughly €177 billion of bonds issued by Greece and subject to the offer, it has received tenders for exchange from holders of around €152 billion. The participation rate after the CAC activation is 95.7%. Good or bad news? |
