Private property prices hiking is never the issue that worries us common wage earners.  It is the side effect on housing for the poor and underprivileged.    How many properties can we buy? If we buy one, two, three when they are cheaper, we can become richer when the prices go up, right?  But not for HDB flats where you will own one and only one, and you and most avergage Singaporeans can only buy one HDB flat and own it twice  with " subsidies" in your life time, because beyond the second time you are no longer eligible to  buy direct from Housing Board  . Even if the price of a HDB went to become S1 million, you are still an average person because you cannot sell your house and buy another flat for two reasons. One, you have to pay for another dwelling, so imagine how dear it would be and whether you could afford it with it evger soaring.  Don't physco people that it is good and you are reaping a profit.  It is zero sum.  You gain but you don't reap until the day you and your wife die and your children or grandchildren sell your  HDB flat.  But they will in turn face problem on housing. There is no profit for trading in HDB flats, impossible unless you give up your citizenship and question your own loyalty to Singapore. For those who claim that appreciating HDB flat prices is good, I will say " humbug." ..." flawed" and " alibaba."

go back to where you come from please. Just can't stand those people who migrant to other countries and don't be humble or wine into  other's cultures, if they think that their people pay a lot in their country and still be chic.........either their want face or they are boastful. If they feel that they are pround of that, go back and challenge with their counterpart(knowing that doing biz in China is not easy). We have enough hawkers stall talents. ungrateful people. Mei you wo men(patrons), ta men hai hui zhan de zhu jiao ma...will write in chinese soon.   |

Why are they called Foreign 'Talent'? The correct term should be Foreign 'Worker'  instead and not Foreign 'Talent'. Or in this case 'Foreign Hawker'. Aren't we  'Local'  Talent's too?  Why  you didn't call us local hawker as 'Local Talent'? ![]() |

Hawkers from China assault Singaporean family http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews/Singapore/Story/A1Story20110414-273712.html   SINGAPORE - A Singaporean family was assaulted by a hawker couple at Food Loft along Clementi Ave 3 yesterday. STOMP contributor Julia recalled that she had taken an extra portion of anchovies from a container placed outside the hawker stall after paying for her noodles, when the female stall holder, who according to Julia was from China, raised her voice and said, " You Singaporeans who are paying so little money want to have so much of everything" . After raising her voice at Julia, the female store holder continued to mumble and complain to passers-by about the same matter and also complained to her husband. Her husband then attacked Julia's family of three, causing them to run away in defence. The male stall holder did not stop his pursuit even after the family got into their car, and continued to kick and bang on the car. The woman stood in front of Julia's car to prevent them from driving away, allowing her husband to continue abusing the car from behind. Julia had sustained injuries on her back and head after falling while trying to stop her husband from retaliating during the attack. Both her husband's eyes were swollen and her son also suffered a bruised eye. The family sought treatment at Singapore General Hospital and chalked up $180 in medical bills. They also made a police report on the same night. Julia's husband later revealed that they had decided to take photos of the food from the stall as they had wanted to make a report to National Environment Agency as the food did not seem clean. The male hawker left his stall and shouted at him, demanding to know why he was taking pictures, and started to assault Julia's husband. Julia's husband went to ask the female hawker why she made such a big fuss out of an extra portion of anchovies. He held up the plastic container of anchovies while asking her, and female stall holder slammed the container onto the table, sparking off the assault. The couple then started to punch Julia's family, and her 14 year-old son got hurt while trying to defend his father. The male hawker also hit Julia's husband's head with an object. Julia's husband could not retaliate because Julia and the coffeeshop owner had prevented him from doing so. The coffeeshop owner later revealed that the hawker couple they encountered were known for their bad temper. When AsiaOne checked with the police, we were told that a report has been lodged against the hawkers and that they have classified it as mischief and voluntarily causing hurt. The police are currently looking into the matter. |
