There will be chances in future. Just be prepared, ready your ammo for the next round. i know some pple who got so cheesed off with the mkt they never bother investing anymore, preferring to blame everyone else for their mistakes. i believe if u go thru enuff mkt cycles, eventually it will be profitable for u. cheers!

Right... And there are so many credible coaches in the market to choose from the newspapers... My favourite one being the one whom I always fondly remember who likens playing the stock market to 'juicing' sugar cane... squeezing the maximum 'juice' out of a well planned trading position...

what if you treat it as a tuition fee...don't think about "winning it back"; otherwise, may become too anxious -- not good for trading. instead, try to focus on "not losing" for every future trade you make.....

What is the loss in percentage term of your total investments? You can only make it back if the stocks you invested has long term prospects. You can buy a few lots more and trade it in and out for small profits. If the new purchases are profitable, sell it with some of the old shares. This can help reduce your holdings and take back some profits or capital. Think this can work.

The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. - Stephen R. Covey Accept that you have problem in investment and start learning. Try to read some investment book. I recommend John J. Murphy - Technical Analysis Of The Financial Markets. It not only teach about TA. In stock investment, you need to combine lot of basic skill & basic understanding to succeed. For beginner, I suggest try to read the chapter of:- 1) Money management. 2) Basic concepts of trend. I guess if you able to do well on these 2 things, you can survive for time being. And start learn more deep in TA and FA. I also just a beginner. |

That is the truth... Because playing the stock market is in reality playing against oneself. Once one has mastered oneself, one would have 'tamed' the market beast, as it were... |

This is the ultimate secret of stock market success... But unfortunately, it is almost humanly impossible for humans to be so 'compassionate' or forgiving of the stock market beast... Instead, they will invariably 'take it back' on the market... by acts such as averaging down or up, as the case may be. or by treating big losses as merely 'paper losses' (who invented this term!)? They simply don't buy the idea of 'forgiving the market'... hehehe...

What is lost is lost. Never think of winning back. Every new trade should be "new" and not momery of lost trade. Don't let emotion affect your judgement.... | ||||

The most common reason for big big losses is people's staunch belief and stubborn trust in a stock's fundamentals even as it is falling week by week before their eyes. They do not realise that if they invest without using a chart, they are just like navigating in a desert without any landmarks, maps, or 'heavenly' references to aid them.

At this point, good to reflect why the loss, where did you make the wrong move so that you can take it as a learning experience and not make the same mistake.
