Something is really cooking for this company. 3 substantail shareholders sold or are still selling and this in the face of good dividends. Good or bad only time will tell. If victorian is right, I hope he is, then all is good. Just hang on for the actions to unfold. But if he is wrong, company could be in s/hit. |

I will make only 1 comment on Jason's post....the cash component of the Co. is about 12c (not 8c) and NAV about 13c. Suggest Jason get a new calculator. The rest of the issues are all 'Water under the bridge'.

I am also doubtful that it is good to pay too much out of the coffers unless for these assumptions: 1. The company business slows with no potential projects coming and in the best interests of all, try to pay out as much as possible, which if Jason is right, amounts to 50% of its cash in the bank. This helps clear idle cash instead of keeping it for no good reason. 2. Reducing the net asset of the company is better than staying at the current level. So pay out the more the better. For those buying now to get the dividends, it might not be a good move because the XD will bring the share down to 8 cents. For those investing long term, it is a good blessing to get back some money. Not a call to buy or sell.

I just don't understand. the net asset of the company is around 12cents, and earning per share for first quater is 0.41cents. so 4cents dividents is like 33% of the whole company's asset, and almost 10times of the company's earning in the first quater. Moreover, the company's cash is about 8cents per share, which half of the comany's cash will be gone after the divident is given. I doubt a company will do that for whaterever reasons under the sky. I think the dividents is 0.04cents rather than 4cents. And in the company's finacial statements, it says S$0.04cents will be given, not S$0.04.

Hi Guys, I am new, just curious, what usually happens to a counter after RTOs. Share value appreciates or depreciates? Sorry for my ignorance.

BTW .. where did u get that infor on the founder selling at 20c.? for the director soh....he sold 16m, clearly meant to be transfer via open market to buyer..I mean, where got director so "smart" enough to sell so cheap and so much when results and dividend so good. The Edge reported it like he was founder of coy. LOL when he is just a ops manager that happen to be a director..... most of the key heavy ops guys left after sale of arrow biz. Soh is the only one left if u look at past annual reports. Anyway, if someone PMs me here for a chat.. more than happy to offload my stake,, :)))

he founder and vice chairman sold .$20,il last week ,hopefully this will raise liquidity of co...and increase the marketability of the shares and attract institutional interest.Achieva has been profitable since listing in 2000 and sold their biz component and return part of capital to shareholders this year..those who are stuck during high of >20cts would have recovered part of their investment. I think Achieva's mgt is trying to deplete the co's cash and then sold off to parties interested in reverse takeover. It was rumoured long agao Achieva is a potential takeover target |

I'm not confident, I'm just logical about it but will also do my homework. Helps that i have good friends in corporate finance, advisory, legal and acountants to help me verify what I think. As to the discount, I'm not sure but there would defintely be a discount if a rights share offering is to take place.. this is many many months down the road. There are enough rights issue case studies to see how the underlyiing share price remains high for a discount to happen. Timing wise, it is also unknown.. hence it is very very difficult for retail investors to understand or to appreciate the corporate finance aspects of what is going on and if in doubt but yet want to profit from the account in the medim term or long term of 1 to 2yrs respectively, just use cash u know you don't need and get paid a 40% yield... u can't go wrong with it. Hey.. beats the hell out of any minibond right????No redemption charges or clause of catastrophic events. : )) |

U seem pretty confident with Achieva movement plan. Sound logical though. For Rights Issue, is it confirm they are offering at 1 for 1 at 20% discount? If I have 100 lots then I can subscribe another 100 lots right? If I dun want then does it mean I can sell it off?
