I believe Temasek must have lost quite abit. They wont tell us. My friend had holding of merrill lynch investment (capital protected) and sold off (at least 10 - 15% loss) somewhere in april'09. He didnt thin merrill lynch could pay back his entire US$ capital upon maturity (in yr 2010). He didnt know Temasek sold the shares in March, if he would have known, he would have sold off in March and the loss could be lesser. March is the month that most share went up and i believe Temasek use this opportunity to sell in that month to minimise losses? p/s - he wanted to sell this investment last year but held back thinking that since 'Our Temasek' is still holding those share with Merrill Lynch and Citibank (the agent for merrill lunch) also assured him Temasek is still holding those shares. But,,,, they never said 'Tamesek has transfered the share from Merrill lynch to Bank of america)!! |

err....do they CUT LOSS and sell or wat? any profit from this sales?? alamak..i thot they say USA banks will recover?? hmmm...so fast cut liao har? :P SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd. sold its entire 3.8% stake in Bank of America Corp. (BAC) as of March 31, according to a quarterly report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. A Temasek spokeswoman confirmed the Bank of America divestment, but didn't elaborate. The Singapore state investment company reported holding about 219.7 million Merrill Lynch shares in December. Those shares were later converted into Bank of America shares. According to the same SEC filing, Temasek also sold ICICI Bank Inc. (532174.BY) American depositary receipts. It held 3.6 million ADRs in December, according to a previous SEC filing. -By Patricia Kowsmann and P.R. Venkat, Dow Jones Newswires; 65 6415 4157; patricia.kowsmann@dowjones.com |
