It's okay Cathy. In investment, no one is true. But if you can see something throught your prespective and it can be applied in the market, you can use it. For example, market is moving up since 10 years ago, and together with the time, inflation also going up. If you think both of them related, you can use it. I can be wrong with my opinion. So ... this is the reason we are sharing ... and I'm still learning from others .. and this time .. I have this opinion. I will remember it, and I;m sure .. one day it will be useful ..

Hi CatyImg, price can move up/down with I'm sure it will. Some company will have been provited from inflation, especially multinational listing company. But, if the company main operation and transaction is on the country itself, I'm pretty sure the company's NAT will going down, unless it is a venture company. But, since singapore market is not effected strongly by fundamental thing, inflation is just another wind blowing to the rock. Means it will just give a shock then will be forgotten.

I have read somewhere(couldn't remember where) that inflation also will cause share prices to go up. Not so much as to its value but its the money that is getting smaller. That is why over the years, indexs tends to go upwards. Not withstanding downturn periods.

The only people getting large bonuses or large increments are my banker friends. But now with the credit crunch, the situation is reversed. They are all afraid of job cuts now.

Ah yoh yoh, heng ah, AK is not working at that GI coy, if not kena burnt as well, during the crisis crunch. In last GIC Staff Conference, one jocker name sound like Johny Chan, illiterated the "worst recession may drag for 30 yrs", during teabreak time. Hmm, seems like many people, including AK, like to use Warren Buffett parrot cry, 30hrs. Incidentally, looking at the heavy weight corporate coy, the Kepcorp morning performance, look like AK really need to keep this stock for 30 yrs leow. Angry, pm don't go for the AGM already. Ha ha. |

Inflation in one definition means the increase of cost production or even indicating low productivity which means resulting pressure to companies in a country. Expend will increase on the other side company growth will be slowing down. For singapore now, inflation means the increase of demand for good when productivity is stagnant. Just like how rice's price is increasing ... refers to the role of supply and demand |
