So when the "Trade Summary" shows higher "sellvol" than 'buyvol", it is known as a buy-up.

Hi Benny,

It's a trade summary, which means done deal, the "sellvol" means people buying from the seller's q, if all the seller's q is exhausted, the buy n sell q will jump up to the next higher level.

hi richtan,

Below is my chart analysis for sharing and exchange pointers.

My TA chart is posted to share n exchange pointers with those TA practitioner whom believes in TA.

If u are a TA detractor, plse just ignore n refrain from peeping at my chart posting n start

making unconstructive comments and plse do not be so childish or lunatic as to abuse the

rating system by rating it as "bad post", accumulating for yourself and your

next generation, "bad" karma for your "bad" deeds.

If u think it is a bad post, then be constructive and kindly post your TA for sharing.

This is only my view n I may be right or wrong, so dyodd and SOBAYOR.

Hi aircraft,

Generally, whenever time permits, I try to share my chart analysis to exchange pointers with fellow TA practitioner n I try to shun making buy/sell calls as nothing is guaranteed n my calls may at times be wrong, though at times I may share my personal stop-loss point as individuals have to dyodd n BOSAYOR.

It is very difficult for me to elaborate in a forum about how I spot buy/sell candle pattern candlesticks pattern as it is a field of study by itself which needs to be learned from books n not easily explained in a posting, but basically, 1st n foremost, I m a trend trader n candlestick TA chartist, so 1st thing, I look for the trend (The trend is your friend) followed by identifying reversal candles to decide my buy and sell, preferably supported by vol , trend channel, support, resistance, fibo retracement n lastly those lagging indicators, if they support the leading incators (candles reversal pattern), it is an added bonus.

Hi RichTan,

I've been learning from you posts on a daily basis, really appreciate your sharing.

For you, if based solely on TA ( e.g candlesticks pattern ), what will trigger as a buy call/ sell call for you ? Thanks.

It is not cast in stones.

Stocks n gold do not necessary have to go inverse way, there r instances in the past whereby both moved in tandem.

Retail players do not have enuf firepower to make it top vol or top 20, u need FM, big institutions or big syndicates to push up.

But b4 they push up, they have silent low profile accumulation phase just as u r seeing now those "1 lotters" trick to create "fear" by programmed every "about 1 mins" sell down to accumulate at lower price (read my earlier post on "1 lotters programmed trading tat I copied from another forum).

Once, they have accumulated enuf, it is the "pump n dump" distribution phase, where they do the "1 lotter" programmed buy-up to create the impression of price going up n dump to those late-comers.

(1) Remember, "The trend is your friend, never, never go against the trend", we need to know the short-term, mid-term n long term trend n trade accordingly

When stock are badly sold irrationally, price would definitely fall below all your MA. Isnt this the case for market panic. Stock panic is just the same psychologically or even magnified. I am hopeful it would move up the MAs next week.

Call it a herd effect. They can be explained using psychology. After the Lehman case, every see stock market like ghosts. Even at good bargin price, no body wants to pick up. The companies that I calling Raffles Edu, Goodpack, China Fish and Pac Andes are fundamentally good companies whose business I can understand and see value. They can really make good profits.

If purist chartists disagree, please abstain from commenting in this forum and leave me alone. Do not accumulate bad karma. TIA

U.S. Stocks Advance, Trimming Weekly Decline for S&P 500 Index
Share | Email | Print | A A A

By Lynn Thomasson

Sept. 4 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks gained for a second day, trimming a weekly decline for the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index, after the government reported a smaller-than-forecast decrease in jobs last month.

Bank of America Corp., Walt Disney Co. and Caterpillar Inc. climbed at least 1 percent after the Labor Department said the nation lost 216,000 jobs in August, less than the 230,000 decrease forecast by economists in a survey.

The S&P 500 added 0.3 percent to 1,006.62 at 10:27 a.m. in New York. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 24.48 points, or 0.3 percent, to 9,369.09.

“There’s been a tremendous string of data points that have consistently beat expectations,” said Liam Dalton, who oversees about $1.1 billion as the New York-based chief executive officer of Axiom Capital Management. “It’s holding up the market.”

Gains were limited as the government employment report also said the jobless rate climbed to a higher-than-forecast 9.7 percent last month following a revision of July’s figures to reflect a loss of 276,000 jobs, higher than previously reported.

The S&P 500 has fallen 2.2 percent this week amid speculation the six-month rally in equities has outpaced the prospect for an economic recovery. The measure has still rallied 48 percent since reaching a 12-year low in March.

Economic policy makers are signaling they plan to leave emergency stimulus in place even as the global economy pulls out of recession, delivering what Credit Suisse Group AG and Bank of America Corp. call a “sweet spot” for financial markets.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet are among Group of 20 finance officials gathering in London today who say it’s too soon to declare victory over the deepest recession since World War II.

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas President Richard Fisher said the U.S. economy will probably undergo an extended period of slow growth while facing “financial headwinds” that will take years to wane. Separately, Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz said the economy faces a “significant chance” of contracting again.
