Willl the  rental flats become a " source" to more divorces?  since there is no more worry of finding a place to stay after divorces?      The China bride canjust divorce the hubby and get a rental flat to stay.??
Minister Khaw is going to have a big headache of " having  more rental flats" and later facing a   high divorce rate.
This is the 'PRICE'  we are paying the Minsiters to crack their heads.  Is a TOUGH job and lots of sacrifices .

CIC, Temasek Said to Be Among Key Investors in Huaneng Renewables IPO
By Fox Hu -
May 26, 2011 1:31 PM GMT+0800
China
Investment Corp. and Temasek Holdings Pte are among key investors who plan to
buy a combined $415 million of shares in Huaneng Renewables Corp.’s initial
public offering, two people with knowledge of the matter said.
The Chinese sovereign wealth fund has agreed to subscribe for $60 million of
shares, while Temasek, Singapore’s state investment company, plans to invest $50
million, said the people, who declined to be identified as the process is
private. The funds are among 13 so-called cornerstone investors that include General Electric
Co. (GE), the people said.
The wind power unit of China Huaneng Group Corp., China’s biggest electricity
producer, is seeking to raise as much as HK$7.4 billion ($950 million), offering
about 2.5 billion shares at HK$2.28 to HK$2.98 apiece, the people said. The
company aims to start trading on June 10, they said.
Cornerstone investors, who get guaranteed access to IPOs in return for
agreeing to hold the shares for typically six months, account for at least 44
percent of Huaneng Renewables’ sale, as the Beijing-based company tries to
garner support for its second attempt since December to list in Hong Kong.
Hu Xiaoyu, a director at China Huaneng Group’s news office in Beijing,
declined to comment, as did Temasek spokesman Jeffrey
Fang. Two phone calls to CIC’s public relations office in Beijing went
unanswered.
Huaneng Renewables said on Dec. 13 that market volatility forced it to scrap
a planned IPO. Rival China Datang Corp. Renewable Power Co., the wind unit of
the nation’s second- largest power producer, began trading in December after
raising HK$5 billion.
General Electric plans to buy $15 million of shares, while China State Grid
Corp. has agreed to invest $50 million in the IPO, the people said. A Standard
Chartered Plc (STAN) unit and CSR Corp., China’s largest listed trainmaker,
plan to invest $50 million each in the offering, they said.
Bank of China Group Investment Ltd., China Huadian
Corp. and Anshan Iron & Steel Group each plan to buy $30 million of
stock, the people said. Morgan Stanley, China International Capital Corp. and Macquarie Group
Ltd. (MQG) are managing the IPO, the people said.

Opposition parties overnight,   becomes   some youngsters'   idols and some even asked for " autograph" from their idol..
The wrong signal or errorenous message sent out to the younger generations that it is alright to " oppose a system in the system of a country and become an idol" if not corrected or properly educated, in an   unbiase ways, this could bring forth   more set backs especially among the younger generation.
......The daddy has to be prepared to be told off by his bright-off-srping :   Dad,   i am opposing your view, and i am taking charge, you go do charity works....dont mess up with me .............

Singapore to Create Most Bank Jobs Next Year

Singapore will create more jobs in financial services during the next 12 months than any other city, beating London and New York, said recruiter Astbury Marsden, which advises companies in Europe and Asia.
A survey of investment bankers showed 37 percent expect Singapore to add the most jobs, the London-based recruitment firm said in an e-mailed statement. The survey showed 22 percent expect London to create the most jobs, just ahead of Shanghai and Hong Kong, while 1 percent said New York.
“Singapore has rapidly established itself as the destination of choice for City firms looking to expand their business in Asia,” said Mark Cameron, Chief Operating Officer of Astbury Marsden.
Singapore’s hedge-fund industry grew to S$59 billion ($48 billion) at the end of 2009, from about $10 billion in 2005, according to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, which is both the central bank and regulator of Singapore’s financial system.
Algebris Investments LLP, a London-based hedge fund, was among those to open an office in Singapore last year.
“Cities close to emerging markets are at the forefront of the global expansion in financial services,” Cameron said.
The survey showed 19 percent of respondents expected the most jobs to be created in Shanghai, 17 percent said Hong Kong and 4 percent nominated the United Arab Emirates, according to the statement.

MM Lee’s comments in reply to
Our main reason is to show Singapore is in a new era.
It cannot be government as usual.
Both former PMs withdrawing from the Government will indicate that it is not government as usual, and that the PM can and will revise and revamp his policies going into this new situation.
SM Goh and I believe this is the right thing to do, to give PM and his team the room to break from the past, and we want to make it clear that the PAP has never been averse to change.
It is vital to avoid a situation where people vote to have more Opposition for Opposition’s sake. The Sunday Times |

Chinese stock scams are the latest U.S. import

Pump and dump scheme. Finance chief resigned. A member firm of the " Big Four" accounting company's global network, severed ties to the company. Investors chase the next hot Chinese stock -- only to find themselves victims of scams. Many of the questionable Chinese companies gain access to U.S. capital markets through a back door. Of the more than 600 companies that obtained entry to U.S. exchanges this way between January 2007 and March 2010, a total of 159 were from the China region, according to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). While many are legitimate, some turn out to be outright pump-and-dump schemes and other scams. This has taken U.S. exchanges by surprise. NYSE and Nasdaq have delisted several companies and have a veritable " skid row" of more than a dozen firms that have been halted for weeks or months pending requests for information about accounting problems and late regulatory filings. " You see these Chinese companies that have these great numbers, they never miss a quarter of earnings. They are always right on. Their expenses are low. Their growth is tremendous, regardless of the economy. So you go, 'Hmm, this doesn't make sense'," said Left. Efforts to inspect Chinese auditing firms have met resistance from Chinese authorities, but Doty told Reuters this week he expected progress this year, in part because the various problems with Chinese firms had shown authorities in Beijing the importance of credible auditing. " I'm afraid for my personal safety in some areas of China," Qin said. He told Reuters that some companies colluded with employees at major Chinese state-owned multinational banks to provide false bank statements, though he would not specify which ones. " Just because it is China doesn't mean it is a path to riches," Left said. |

it still depend on the fundamental of China economy.
1) inflation hopefully could be lowered in the 2nd quarter.
2) Interest will be lowered instead of higher as figures showed china will experience slow down.
3) i expect chinese govt will not allow the slowdown- social problems will occur.
4) so, they may decrease interest rate and use their surpluses to jam up. When US is recovering, somewhere in this world will have less funds.
imagine the world is like a mahjong game. It is immposible for 4 players to win money . at least 1 player will lose. Now the loser is US, but when US recovered , some where the funds will have to come out from others. |
