stocks following this index are cosco, yzg, mercator, nol, noble and stx, broking house posted. cosco price could be the Sevan Merine rigs order has been materialised loh, guess only lah.

this burger really cheah lut, almost all counters green today but it was otherwise. though did the same things like Sime and Leeman. may be young man can chiong better. Cheers.

x 0 		This stock keep dropping. Like no hope already. It is a sinking ship rather than a booming ship. Compare to cosco who dont have contract still perform better than this yzj.

Marine-related companies are made up of many different kinds. There are shipbuilders, shiprepairers, shipconverters, auxiliary marine services providers, rig-builders, etc.

For a large ship-builders/repairers/converters and rig-builders, they have to near coastal. How else they gonna launch such behemoths. For micro shipbuilders building small boats, not near coastal is okay as the light boats can be hoisted and transported out.

For auxiliary marine services providers, they tend to have their operation inland. They provide marine services like testing and balancing ships' turbines, blades repair work, grinding/polishing marine valves, aux. engine services, etc. etc. Auxiliary marine services providers are contractors mainly to shiprepairers.

YZ is a large shipbuilder (think yz also do repairs and conversion work too), so has to near coastal.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding rose a day after the Chinese firm won 12 orders worth US$514.4 million to build various vessels.

"Near-term, the contracts have no impact on the company. However, the market is still concerned with rising steel prices and RMB appreciation," said UBS analyst Hubert Tang.
