US stocks still worth to invest?  American people always think that 'things are  better tomorrow, a bright sun shiny day' whereas chinese people always think that there is earthquake tomorrow. Our Temasek worries that there is earthquake tomorrow, so, they pulled out the investment from US banks.

Can Google climb back as high as US$600 bucks?

I think at this juncture, M1 wld be more attractive than star hub.

DBS V -

StarHub has achieved our price objective. Downgrade to

HOLD, with unchanged target price of S$2.20, pegged at 12x

PER, at 20% premium to M1’s target PER of 10x. At this point

of time, StarHub’s 8.3% dividend yield is similar to 8.5% yield

offered by M1. StarHub trades at 12x FY09F PER similar to

SingTel’s PER, despite higher growth prospects for SingTel.

This is good or not?  always stays at 1.48 to 1.52.

Looking at the trading pattern of this stock, i can see that someone is accumulating it.

Dividend declared as 7.2 cents yet company fundamental are strong. It shouldn't have stay at current price 1.49.

Any view ?

I plan to invest..

Yes, i have same thought that money cant just disappear like that, but, got to be in someone's pockets (before the sub-prime crisis actually happened).

But, definitely not the banks. Banks are the 'worst-hit' by theis crisis.    Banks loan to developers who want to buy a land to building something, loan to contracts and companies who help to build something.  Then people start buying and get loan and later, unable to pay and become bankcrupt etc.

So, Who got the money right from the biginning?  I think is the OWNERs of the Lands!  The lands could be owned by government, owned by private persons. Whoever wants to buy a land to develop something, they need to pay first...... then, next, pay land/property tax to government etc..... After that, it is none of the land owners business and the developers and down under, got to hold on to the ball and roll on..........

I agreed that the market is always right, by juz looking at the charts.  Everybody can has a thousand reasons that the economy is still in recession, jobless rate is still so high, exports and imports are low, people are not buying and spending etc. USA is printing money everyday to loan it to the banks, but stock markets still goes up and it has been going up since Mar!  At least there is a support that the market will not goes down to the time when it is around Jan to Mar 2009.

Although it is now on the uptrend, it does not mean economy is recover, juz that people is getting use to all the negative news, and solutions are being pass out, but it is not dissolve yet.  USA has print trillions of money but where do previously the money in the Bank goes to ?  The money cannot juz disappear.

victorf      ( Date: 29-May-2009 16:37) Posted:

What i mean by "Market is always RIGHT" is not from the perspective of market economy (which in long term it should be efficient enough) but from the perspective of one trading position (judgement, do/don't, prediction, etc.)  One should not go against the Market as it is always Right (even if you have your own thousands of good reasons for it to go up or go down) and you must accept the fact that "Market is always RIGHT" Else it can be very disastrous.

There is this resistance to watch first  - 2385  first for it to break higher, if not, will drift down.

I wont say its a 'silly' question.  Its just newbie's normal reaction, and afterall, this is a free website for people to express their feeling here.Cheers!

My very first blue chip i bought Singtel @ $2.4 x 1 lot and later sold @ $3 plus.

This is better than buying some penny stock or some stocks people try to talk others  into buying and unsure of its profit . Cheers!

STI manage to clear 2283 / 2300.  Next resistance level 2450 then 2500??  If short sellers sell heavily again and US doesnt perform well, will it drop back below 2283 again?  So unpredictable.

Looks like stock inching down slowly.  Notice when price goes down, it is well supported by a '1 lot buy up'.... but, price already down and the 'buy up' is actually lower each day...think got to becareful when want to pick stock and buy at this moment of time.

haha... the main problem here nobody know when is the minor or major one lo....sometime we thought just a minor correction, who know day by day dip dip till no more brake and keep dropping slowly ! bottomline emotion still affect our decision !

Livermore      ( Date: 25-May-2009 18:55) Posted:

Ignore the small corrections and focus on the major corrections. At the end of the day if you lose out to the person who just bought and held for long term, what is the point of buying and selling so much over minor corrections?

End March'09, Temasek sold off the BOA shares and then buying into china shares before puclic came to know about it.  Could they have already bought singapore shares while prices were still attractive between march  and  April  which could be part of  the contributing factors to the recent mkt rally?
