I heard Starbucks is retrenching and closing many outlets (a few thousands) worldwide. Is it true?

after a nite of thought... decides it's time to dump my comfort holdings... not comfortable with a bus transport company going into building buses. What are they up to?

by sheer logic if it's wise move, then Smrt would be making trains and Sia would be building aeroplanes too.

Zhang WuJiiz,

Your name used here is very nice. I think it is from the Chinese Gongfu show by Jing Yong. I like his stories as well. Zhang WuJi became number 1 pugilist after he practiced the "Jiu Yang Sheng Gong". Wish you all the best in  your investment to be like his "Jiu Yang Seng Gong". Also, many women fell in love with him. How nice!..LoL..

ComfortDelgro => agreed with you. Cannot be very wrong as it is a transportation company. Oil up or down will benefit this company. Oil up ==> more people switched to public transport. Oil down ==> their profit margin will go up. They pay good div as well.

Stay invested. We can never catch the bottom. Don't try to bottom fish. Even the guru Warren Buffet cannot do it! BTW, he is also invested in transportation.

Maybe i'll pick some tomorrow to average out. Anyway not much changes from last time. It pays good div. Only problem is oil price. However, i'm seeing oil price to come down slightly. Now already 137 for oil. Down a bit.

Just nibble a bit. Don't rush. Many gurus are shouting that market will go down. People listen to them, and market sure down one. Big guru always shout here and there, then market reacts. Fact of life, have to follow them.

Now sentiment is not very good, so don't put too much into it. I bought some at 1.5, now see, down!

My opinion only.

1.45 seems strong support, for now.... Either it'll hold & bounce up to 1.5x or down to 1.40 the next few days, depending on the oil prices movement this week.... Some says oil will go up to $150 by this month whilst some thinks it's a bubble that'll burst sooner than later.... I choose to be a contraian in these days of market uncertainty

Thanks for the insight. Though there are concerns of economic uncertainties and volatile oil prices, I still hold instead of sell for a time frame of 1 year. It has a div yield of 3.8% & Yr after yr it has after tax profit of more 200.

Citigroup downgrades ComfortDelgro to Sell from Buy, cuts target price to $1.44 from $2.01. Says transport group faces near-term pressure from diesel fuel costs, weaker U.K. business; "while Comfort would have liked to have hedged its fuel costs, it has been understandably reluctant to do so at recent price levels," noting diesel has soared to almost US$160/bbl currently from US$89/bbl in June 2007. Adds revenue contribution from U.K. has waned in SGD terms over past few quarters due to weaker GBP, while London taxi business has felt impact of weakening financial sector in U.K.

UOB KayHian keeps ComfortDelGro at Hold with target price at $1.80 after company says it will transfer 16% of its subsidiary, CityFleet (UK), to Cabcharge (AU); in exchange, ComfortDelGro's stake in Cabcharge will rise to 7.46% from 5.01%. Says deal to result in one-time gain of $26.5 million, or NAV per share increase of 1.27 cents in FY08. Says deal to strengthen relationship between ComfortDelGro and Cabcharge for future growth; the companies set up JV to acquire Westbus group in 2005, strengthening ComfortDelGro''s presence in Australia, which contributed 7.6% of 1Q08 revenue. UOB KayHian keeps core earnings forecasts unchanged. Says upside surprises could come from oil price corrections, overseas expansion.
