Yup correct is RIGHTs thing again. But i prefer this to share placement.

Below are the news:

Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) (NEPS.SI), the world's seventh largest container shipping firm, said on Tuesday it plans to raise $1.437 billion by issuing three rights shares for every four existing shares.

NOL, around two thirds-owned by Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings (TEM.UL), said Temasek will subscribe to its pro-rata entitlement of 67.4% and could “backstop” the entire rights issue.

NOL will sell about 1.1 billion shares at $1.30 a share, a discount of about 15% to the firm's last closing share price.

NOL says half of the proceeds from the rights issue will go towards debt payment.

Good news to share: Singapore’s property stocks rallied as analysts forecast residential property prices will rise in the second half of the year as the city-state’s economy starts to recover from its worst-ever recession, reported Bloomberg. City Developments, the city’s second-biggest developer, said last week it raised prices at one of its projects by as much as 6% and sold the remaining 33 apartments at another development. “We think this is a positive development and suggests high probability of a meaningful recovery from the second half of 2009,” Regina Lim, an analyst at UBS AG in Singapore, wrote in a note today. City Developments gained 7.1% to $10.12 at 3:33 p.m., headed for its highest close since Sept 2. CapitaLand, Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, surged 6.6% to $4.05, poised for its highest close since Aug 15. Keppel Land, a unit of Keppel Corp., climbed 8.1% to $2.66, set for its highest close since Sep 1. Private home prices plunged 14% in the first quarter, the most in at least 16 years, according to preliminary data issued by the Urban Redevelopment Authority on April 1. Prices have retreated for three-straight quarters amid Singapore’s worst recession since its independence in 1965. “I think that property prices in Singapore have bottomed out already,” said Brandon Lee, an analyst at DMG & Partners Securities Pte in Singapore. “Going forward, prices are going to see an increase of up to 5% for the second half of the year and an increase of between 5% and 10% in 2010 as well.”

Olam International Ltd: Equity placement to Temasek Holdings

Olam International Ltd's (Olam) has announced its proposal to place out

273.5m new shares to Temasek Holdings. The new shares have been priced

at S$1.60, representing a 17.4% discount to the weighted average price of

trades done on 29 May 09. We expect the placement to result in a dilution

of 16% for existing shareholders. Net proceeds from this placement, which

will amount to approximately S$437.0m, will be used mainly to finance

new capital expenditure and acquisitions for the group. According to Olam,

the participation by Temasek will enable the group to tap on more investment

opportunities for growth. We will be looking to adjust our numbers to account

for the dilution. For now, our both

are under review.
BUY rating and S$2.06 fair value estimate

All shares (old and new) entitled to distribution wef 010109. DPU post rights is 5.91 cents. (refer to rights announcement).

At 0.86 (theoritical ex-rights price) , the yield is 6.87%.

The DPU for 2008 is 11.0 cents. This rights issue highly dilutes the DPU.
