Parkway Holdings: Fortis Healthcare to acquire 23.9% stake in Parkway

Summary: India’s fastest growing healthcare company, Fortis Healthcare Ltd, yesterday announced the acquisition of a 23.9% strategic stake in Parkway Holdings from TPG Capital for an estimated US$685.3m or S$3.56 per share.

According to Fortis, the acquisition will enable it to expand its footprint and place it strategically for geographical and clinical leadership in Asia.

CapitaLand upbeat about China
Property developer CapitaLand believes that rapid urbanisation and the huge demand for housing will continue to underpin the Chinese market for a long time to come. It is of the view that current market conditions are driven mainly by physical demand. The comments were made in a presentation at the Daiwa investment conference in Tokyo yesterday.
While it noted there is some degree of speculative demand in the Tier 1 cities, CapitaLand said there is no subprime danger in China, unlike in the United States. It added that it is comforted by measures taken by China’s government to rein in the market.

For the Singapore residential market, it said the recent cooling measures introduced by the Government are to ensure a stable and sustainable property market and discourage short-term speculation. CapitaLand also said it would continue to acquire new sites here.

Jack Neo impressed Goh Chok Tong and his wife. The country presented him certain national award on a National Day. He became famous, made more movies and money. The higher he climbed, the more arrogant he behaved and more women he exploited.

He alone committed the sins over the years; why is he now gathering the support of his wife, church pastor and even the Foreign Affairs Minister? This man, Jack Neo, has no bloody shame! It is sickening to read that he even attempted to exploit a 16 year-old French girl! If the attempt was made prior to the girl’s 16^th birthday, this Jack Neo should be charged for attempting statutory rape!

What a big disgrace to Singapore! It does make one feeling sceptical over the type of people identified by our politicians as “talented persons”.

No one of reasonably sound mind would believe Jack Neo’s wife was not aware of her husband’s rotten behavior. Based on news reports, she admitted that she was aware of her husband’s affairs with various girls and it did not bother her. It was shocking to learn the paper quoting her having said along this line : these days, Jack Neo is now behaving like a kid and she need to “saying” him every day.

Apart from Jack Neo himself, this wife is partly to be held responsible for her husband’s rotten and disgraceful behavior!

And the couple expect a few minutes’ conference, peppered with distasteful drama, to wash away Jack Neo’s sins committed over the years?
