UBS upgrades from “Sell” and raises the target price to $1.81 from 77 cents, saying the worst is over for Cosco’s shipbuilding business, with earnings set to grow in 2010 after two straight years of decline. The house raises earnings estimates for FY10, FY11 and FY12 by 45, 135 and 92 per cent respectively, but says “we are cautious on Cosco’s ability to generate high margins from new offshore jobs”.

Deutsche Bank upgrades from “Hold” and raises the target price to $1.00 from 90.5 cents, saying Resorts World Sentosa can still meet house’s forecast of $1.7 billion gaming revenue for FY10, despite market cannibalisation from Marina Bay Sands casino. The house says valuation is attractive as share price has fallen about 15.7 per cent since RWS’ opening in February vs STI’s 7.5 per cent gain over same period.

It helps me to recall how the general market Event / Condition

impact upon each individual stock on that day.

This reflects the individual characteristic of each stock and its Price Reaction.

The next time, when a similar event happens, i wish to use this Reference

to predict its Price Reaction for that day.

This is my Theory and i want to see whether it works or not.

May be not 100% on all stocks.

Hopefully, it works on a Few of them.

This is what i call EA (Event Analysis).

Like Today, most stocks fell, some significantly, some mildly.

Some stocks rOse. SMRT COSCO YANG PST

Other stocks gOt nO Price Reaction.

I try to relate individual stock's Price Reaction to a particular Event.

In FX trading, it depends significantly on EA.

Upside has been much much much more than the USD devaluation.

Also, it depends on when you buy your USD.

Like now, the USD is on the lOw.

When wOrld economy recovers, USD will rise.

FX expert Kathy from US told the audience at the recent ATIC Suntec last weekend.

In this case, when USD is bought at its lOw, you will enjoy CAPITAL APPRECIATION later.

When selling any USD stock, do not convert to S$.

Get payment in USD which can be used to buy other USD stocks.

This is to prevent "losses" in multiple conversions.

You can also use your USD to trade spot FX.

USD is still the Only TRUE WORLD CURRENCY despite its falling exchange rate.

nO Other currency can replace USD one for one.

Hi pharoah. Your question is hard to answer but they tried to delist earlier at about US$1.2 and the SGX rejected it as unfair to investors based on the brokerage firm's recommendation that the offer underpriced.

The current price is a bit high for entry as some investors have come in eyeing the upswing in the tech sector (typical sign of recovering economies). I'd suggest waiting for the market to cool its current selling fever before entering. For me, I'd only enter if it dropped to around US$1.85, which is below its NAV of about S$2.90.

Senecus has held this stock longer than me so he might know better. Cheers.
